Review Notes: I'm a big fan of 5 Vegas. From the occasional dip into the gold for when a mild cigar suits me, to the newer Type A, 5 Vegas makes a good range of quality cigars for reasonable prices. Until the Cask Strength, my favorite had been the 2005 Limitada. Now, it's a close race with the Cask Strength. I personally found them to be stronger than the IT Super Fuerte, which I like but don't think of as a really potent cigar. The Cask Strength is more than fuller in body, however, it's more complex and just a damned fine cigar.

Review Notes: 500 h.p., with manners! This is an unusual cigar; I wouldn't be surprised if it later came out that the wrapper was treated with aromatics. Unlit, it smells as though it were stored in a bourbon barrel. My initial draw before lighting was a bit tight, and I considered putting it back in my humidor for a few months. The smoke starts out solid and with a certain "kool-ness" to it. Not bad, but very different. Otherwise, very nice for the first third. Then the cigar opens up, the flavor and the spice (white pepper) begin to build, and pretty soon you're glad the "cool" quality is in there because otherwise this thing could become a beast. But it doesn't; it retains its impeccable manners throughout and delivers a complex yet amazingly balanced performance. No, I didn't get a "buzz" out of this very long smoke; then again, I didn't really want one. What I got was an impressive smoke with a full-bore rush of potency just under the surface. If you fancy yourself an aficionado you owe it to yourself to try this one. This is class.

Review Notes: I realize that this is supposed to be a Feurte type cigar, and while I did find it to be full bodied, I did not find that it was "strong". It looks nice and the flavors are straight forward, but there was no buzz to this cigar, which is what I look for in a stronger cigar. For 5 bucks, this is a very nice cigar, but you will find a bigger buzz from an Indian Tabac Super Feurte at about the same price or less.
