"A real nice DPG"

Review Notes: If you like DPG cigars you've got to try the 5 Vegas Miami. As beatnik claims in his excellent review, they are a little less spicy than some of the other Pepin brands. I still get some spice and chocolate, but less pepper than say his Blue Label. The 5 Vegas Miami reminds me more of the Cubao. I prefer the toro over the other 2 vitolas I've tried, the M-5 and the robusto, but they are very good as well. The toro yields a little more flavor, imo. By the box these are overpriced. They're best bought on auction in 5 packs, or better yet, when they show up on Joe's Jambalaya from CI in units of 10 for about $30. Value score based on the $3 per cigar example.

Review Notes: I might have pulled this out of the humidor too early, because the draw was tight, the binding cracked, the flavor was pale, and the overall experience was no where near what I thought it was going to be.

Review Notes: I first started smoking don pepins a couple of years ago. someone told me he was rolling this blend so i gave it a try. What a great cigar! The usual white pepper burst out of the gate and mellows into a very smooth smoke. it i repeat not a mild smoke like one of the previous reviews states. top of the line rolling and have 2-3 boxes of these and had maybe 1 or 2 that needed a slight touchup. highly recommended for the everyday smoker.

"Great Medium Bodied Cigar"

Review Notes: Just don't think you can go wrong with these sticks. This is the third vitola I've sampled from a sampler pack and although I must say I enjoy the "A" series better these Miami's are one well balanced and tasty cigar. Burn is almost perfect, slow and even. A slightly tight draw I found to be the only minor drawback. Lots of earthy, woody, nutty flavors. A smooth, creamy and medium bodied smoke. Very relaxing and enjoyable

"Great Pepin for the morning"

Review Notes: To me I found this to be a great morning cigar as it I one of the milder blends. The first thing I noticed was the tight draw. I attributed this to being over humidified at the warehouse to make it while shipping, so when I got them they were very tight. Let these babies rest you'll either pop out an eyeball or get a hernia trying to draw if you smoke a wet one off the truck. If this is the case for you and you want one fast just dry box them over night then keep them at 60-65 percent humidity as the Corojo that is used heavily in Pepin blends like it a bit dryer than other cigars. After this and a month or so age make them Burn and Draw PERFECTLY. I like the 48 ring size more favorable over the standard Toro. I believe it provides better flavor as I think it brings out the wrapper which is very nice. The biggest problem with this cigar and all Pepin blends is that the MSRP is twice the price it should be, that being said I only get them on Cbid for about $60 - $70 a box. Otherwise Construction is 90% flawless and personally I like the small band not unlike the Tat Bands. Over all If you have found you like the taste of pepin cigars and Like Corojo rathar than Ct Shade (if so try Tabacos Baez) this is the smoke for you it has some spice but I believe it to be mild in spice but medium to full in flavor if your acustomed to full body like I am this is GREAT in the morning or anytime. In my Book this is a top tier cigar for sure! One thing to add since it is not here to rate is the Miami made Shaggy Foot Toro. (yes all these 5 Vegas Miami are made in Pepin's Nicaraguan Factory) This one Shaggy Foot is made in Miami and Is the best in the line. It has a larger ring size perfect draw and I would rate that cigar an overall 9.2 (I would give it a perfect score if it wore not over priced IMO $7 each would be much more reasonable than $12) and if you haven't had a Miami yet The Shaggy Foot Toro is the one to try. They can be had for about 7 buck each on CBid and at CigarDotcom they run $12 each. If your lucky at CBid you can get 2 for $12.
