Review Notes: I have reviewed this cigar before but do not remember how it went. This cigar (and this whole line in general) continues to be one of the more outstanding values around. They are had to find at a B&M so look for them online (CBID). This stick I enjoyed today was woody and chocolatey and smooth and mellow. My wrapper flaked but the flavor and aroma stayed on key. Beautiful white firm ash. Very highly recommended as an every day medium smoke.

Review Title: A great 3 dollar cigar

Review Notes: This is a great 3 dollar cigar...nothing more, nothing less. Don't expect a Cuban or high dollar cigar experience and you won't be disappointed. The Alphas kinda remind me of the El Rey del Mundo Robusto Largas. This one had some wrapper issues (which is a first) but delivered a good smoke nonetheless. Keep in mind the price point relative to the cigar and I don't think you'll ever be disappointed. One last thing...let them age 3 to 6 months and you'll appreciate the value even more.

    Review Title: Good Not Great

Review Notes: I smoked a few of these and I must say that I was let down. From the high praise I expected alot more. I cannot agree that this cigar warrants a similar rating as, say, a Cuban Monte No. 2, a 1964 Padron, or a Fuente Anejo. It is not in the same league. Now with that said, it is a good solid maduro. Good construction. Decent flavor. But nothing special. If you can get them for 2 bucks a stick or less - then fine enough. But for a bit more money you can get something substantially better.

Review Notes: I use to smoke the La Gloria Maduro and Partagas, until my good old buddy Wilmer bought over a box of these for poker night. I cannot fathom that these guys make sure a great cigar for such a great price. I love this size and the taste with that costa rican maduro wrapper is the best. The best thing to do is take the cedar off the cigar and let it age for about 3-5 months, there after the flavor just jumps off the cigar right into your mouth. So good you have to get some!

Review Notes: I've had a fiver in the humidor for about 8 months, finally decided to try one with a nice strong french roast with honey. GREAT! Not a "nubber" but the Alpha is super nicely constructed, deep dark flavors, some flavor changes, and a perfect draw. Can't beat it for the price. Probably needs something that pairs well with dark flavors (good call AudioFileZ).
