Review Notes:
This was good. Not over the top amazing, just the type of smoke I'd reach for mid day as a solid smoke. I should note that I had this with a bold cup of earthy coffee.
Balanced peppery spice balaced with floral, cedar, and citrus flavor. Medium body- not too complex. Good construction- nice burn, perfect draw.

Review Notes:
Spicy blast out of the gate, but mellows out a bit. Lots of cedar, cocoa, and coffee notes. This one has a very refined finish though, with ample spicy complexity, and a slightly sweet liqueur like note.
One of my favorite maduros.

Review Notes:
Construction and appearance are nearly flawless, tightly wrapped with a perfect draw and impeccable burn. I tapped a two inch ash off into the ashtray, but I'm confident it had another inch to give, if you're so inclined.
An abundance of smoke with wonderful aromas of cinnamon spice and toasted hazelnut.
As for the strength and flavor profile, this cigar came off medium bodied with a complexity that ranged from notes of cinnamon spice, toasted nuts and some mild mocha and coffee.

Review Notes:
This is not my first go at a 601 cigar; I loved the 601 black with the Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. I also have a box of 601 Habanos sleeping in my locker at the local humidor. I got three 601 blues in a Don Pepin Garcia sampler from auction for $3 a piece. It is a firm, tight, box pressed cigar with a perfect draw. Impressive construction! The wrapper is slightly oily with a few fine veins, quite nice overall. Most maduros leave me flat with an aroma of burnt coffee and a flavor that just tastes burned (worst case scenario is the Padilla Obsidian, yuck) . Not this one. The first third is subtle with some sweet spicy goodness. A lovely natural sweetness is left on the lips. After the first ashing a razor-sharp burn became slightly uneven, but self-corrected very quickly. A slight pepper taste developed. Finally, the pepper receded and dark chocolate kept jumping in and out. The finish was always surprisingly clean. In summary, the 601 blue is slow-burning (almost 2 hours!) with Padron-like construction, a razor-sharp burn and sweet, spicy, mild peppery flavors and a hint of dark chocolate. Both flavor and body are mild to medium.

Review Notes:
This was my first tasting of a 601 Serie cigar and I came away very impressed. To begin with the constuction of this cigar was almost flawless. Very firm and tight box-pressed feel; extremely solid. Burned razor-sharp and even throuhout the entire smoke with not one touch-up necessary. The cut end remained very firm and tight right to the end. Quite smooth wrapper with some slight veins; dark brown in color with a faint oily sheen. Lots of heavy, creamy smoke id noted upon torching. Flavor profile begins with lots of black pepper spice and charred cedar wood. These flavors amplify after the first half and are joined by notes of cocoa and dark roasted coffee beans. A mild maduro wrapper sweetness is left on the lips. I really didn't find this to be a full-bodied maddie; more on the medium strength side, but still very flavorful, smooth and enjoyable.
