Review Notes:
A pretty good-looker, oily, toothy wrapper with a darker mottling. Straight and well-weighted, but the foot was cut with a dull chaveta or something. It showed the binder and filler peeking out for approx. 1 mm.
Draw was perfect, with some resistance and lots of smoke. Burn was Fuente.. Meaning sharp and almost always straight, not needing any touch-ups.
Smoke was cedary, with a nutty base flavor profile and a slight spiciness that grew as it burned down. As it progressed through 2/3rds, these flavors were overshadowed by leathery notes. It continued like this to the end. The aroma was typical Dominican cameroon, woody and slightly floral with enough spice to tingle the nostrils a little.
When I removed the band, the wrapper tore and later turned the tear to a crack. This was probably due to the well-documented fragility of the cameroon wrapper, but the roller should have known better and used less glue. To his credit, though, the cigar didn't skip a beat and burned right through it.
Overall, a nice way to kill 30-60 mins depending on your draw preference. (I like LOTS of smoke) and not a bad value, either. On my personal 0-100, I rate these at 78. (I'm stingy with pts., so this is pretty good for me!) Highly recommended for the size range, to beginners and experienced alike. Happy herfing!
