Review Notes: Got it as a freebe with a VSG purchase at the local shop. Very one dimensional. First third was tasty but not exciting. The last 2 thirds were boring and boardered on bad. Perfectly constructed and had wonderful prelight aromas. I expected much more.

Review Notes: I agree with other reviewers that this cigar gets harsher as it gets shorter. To me it's a great looking cigar before you smoke it. I love deep maduro wrappers. When I lit it up the very first draw made me go "ahh", Mature flavor, spice with a slight pepper, the finish was mild but long... And then I got to the 2nd half of the stick. It just kept getting more aggressive in a bad way. I kept thinking, "maybe it will pass". But it didn't. Before the band I was done. Also, after it warmed up the construction started to appear a little more suspect. Good draw, even and pleasant ash.

"Hmmm, Maybe"

Review Notes: This cigar's saving grace was the flavors of the first third of the cigar. Beyond that, don't bother. The construction was poor at best. There was a strong ligero leaf on the bottom of the stick that caused it burn slower on one side and even after three touch-ups it still never burned well. The cap was loose and the wrapper had two veins that were downright distracting and unpleasant. As for the flavors, they were slightly sweet and hard to identify, I'm not very good at picking them out, but they were delicious in the first third. They changed with every puff. It almost negated the construction flaws. Then after the first third it settled into a consistent, harsh, burnt out flavor. It was almost stale toward the end which is never good considering it never actually went out. I've had other Ashton's that I would put in the top ten. This one might be near the bottom. Oh, and way too expensive but I guess you're paying for the Ashton name anyway.

Review Notes: I'm surprised some folks gave this cigar less than a 7. I find these flawless. Rich, oily with a succulent strong spicy leather taste that just gets your eyes watering-Great! Long, slow burn that self corrects any runners. Box Buy

Review Notes: This is not one of Ashton's best cigars. Really not much in the way of flavor. Fairly mild and bland. Mostly floral and woody notes. Reminded me of a CAO MX2 which was almost exactly like this one. I am not a big CAO fan. Not that this cigar is terrible, but it is not worth the price--there's better out there. The Cabinet is Ashton's best in my opinion.
