Review Notes:
The dark toothy wrapper had very small veins and tight seams. Pre-burn aromas were sweet. The burn was very wobbly, requiring several touch-ups. Medium in body, the first half was earthy in flavor, with nutty notes, with a sweet maduro aroma and plenty of smoke. The second half became more spicy and peppery and most of the aroma and smoke disappeared. It was an enjoyable smoke, but nothing special.

Review Notes:
Ok so I bought the last two out of a box so I could have the large box for my walk in humidor...yeah they don't give away boxes at any of the two local places where cigars can be purchased hahaha...anyway, this one I enjoyed more than the last, I smoked it faster, and got a more pronounced flavor...same flavor profile, woods and coffee, with a touch of cream...was nice...maybe I'm spoiled-having smoked Cubans for years, but I smoked this one outside; the aroma was nice, but doesn't hold a candle (or cigar in this case haha) to the wonderfull aromas found in ANY Cuban stick...Ashton V.S.G.s, and Diamond Crown Maximus are about the only non-Cuban cigars I do smoke indoors, not saying that others don't smell good, but there is an unpleasant after aroma that lingers in the room from most...you don't get that with Cubans, they always make a room smell great during and after the smoke is gone...anyway a good mild ashton...they don't make a bad stick...decent aftertaste.

Review Notes:
This mild cigar is cloathed in a corse, rigid, slightly oily CBL maduro wrapper...firm in the hand...good cut on the nice triple cap...appealing pre-light draw, on the chocolatey side of a york peppermint patty...sweet prelight aroma...well constructed, great draw...it's rare to get a plugged Ashton, they do exist, but most are flawlessly constructed, like this one...first 3rd: tastse of sweet milk chocolate, fantastic sweet classic maduro aroma...2cnd 3rd: same chocolate flavor is met by subtle wood notes. 3rd 3rd: wood is now dominate over the chocolate, still no harmony, which is strange to me, they're both fighting for position...I was suprised to discover a 4th phase in the finnish (I thought I'd reached the finnish already...nope) a seemingly sharp rush of heavily creamed coffee-this seemed sharp due to the mellowness of the overall smoke, but the flavors were still subtle and mild, some wood, and less chocolate survived...some green peppercorns came through at the end...the aroma changed at this point, to a sweet vanilla...vanilla was strong and obvious. I do not prefer mild smokes such as these, however I will not criticize it for being mild simply because that is not my preference...it is not trying to be something more than it is-which is an excellent first tier mild cigar...a beginners strength in both power and flavor, in an aficianado's format, the double corona...if this suits you, you won't be disappointed...Ashton ages there cigars longer than most before they hit the shelves, this had an additional 3 months on it, which I feel is the minimum for this cigar, as I've had them right out of a new box before, and the finnish was a little acrid...perhaps a year before the blends merry, and the wood and chocolate will be at peace with eachother.

Review Notes:
Not often can I afford to venture into the price range of Ashtons but in this case I'm glad I forked over the xtra $$$ to give this delicious Maduro a try. An attractive if rustic dark wrapper. Lots of heavy smoke with a consistent burn (only had to re-light once). On the milder side for a Maduro, but shows off a nice coffee and cream, chocolate, woodsy flavor profile. A relaxing 90 min. smoke that went real well with a couple of Imperial Stouts. Well worth the money
