Review Notes:
I attentively tune my senses to this premium stick. Billed as a full-bodied Avo, it does live up thus far. Having received 2 from the site some call "the devil site" about three weeks ago (5 bucks a pop), I decided to go ahead and go for it tonight following a trip to Safeway and buying a bottle of Zin. I figured this cigar would go well with a full bodied wine. So far my impressions are good. It started out cedary, with a light dusting of pepper, very light, almost unnoticable. As I lay it down to rest, the aroma rising through the chilly air into my nostrils exumes a pleasant sweetness, with hints of vanilla. As I raise it to my trembling lips and slowly take a drag, mind you slowly (earlier on I was taking some fast, uncontrolled drags, thus upsetting the balance, possibly pissing off the cigar gods, who, in turn, unleashed nastiness upon my palate) I am met with a richness that can only be associated with finer cigars. The flavor is not too complex, though not unpleasant by any means. Very nice. I must mention that it burns evenly, with a light grey ash. Now, about halfway through, I notice a sprinkling of leather coupled with a sweet woodiness. I gotta say, the aroma is just amazing, more so that the taste. A fine cigar, which I'm sure will de nubbed. Now, regarding appearance: like I said, I got these from a notorious auction site. They must have chosen the ugliest out of the box to auction off. The wrappers, while oily, silky, and golden brown, had some fat un-avo-ish veins i them. I'm sure this probably only occurs in 1 out of 5 or 7 of these in a box, but I gave it a 6 b/c of this. This cigar does have that unique, dominican flavor associated with avos, only with more kick. I like it. That said, I would not buy these at msrp. I would, however, get more at screaming low prices at, well, you know where (as long as I dont get sniped).
