Review Notes: This is a great cigar, if you keep in mind what you paid for it. Sure, it's the scraps off the Ashton floor, but those are great scraps. These are definitely not premium cigars, but they are way better than the average bundle stick, and are a great quick smoke for when you're doing something else (like fishing, or walking the dog).

Review Notes: I haven't been smoking long and I can't really pick out specific flavors, so I just look for things I enjoy and are a good value. I have smoked about 5 of these. The first was really good and I would've rated it 7 or 8. The others were below average to bad. For the same price, try another DPG cigar, the Tabacos Baez Series SF. It is MUCH better in flavor, construction, ash, etc.

Review Notes: Everything started off good with this cigar untill I lit it. Started by making a nice clean cut with my Palio cutter, followed by a pre light draw. The wrapper was very spicy and the draw had notes of cedar. This was very misleading. Once lit everything went downhill. A spicy, harsh peppery flavour with a burnt coffee aroma that continued thoughout 2/3 of the smoke. At that point I had enough. In reading others reviews I have learned that these are a hit and miss cigar. Because of this, I would give these another chance but definately would only purchase a single. Perhaps some aging would be beneficial.

    Review Title: Decent bundle cigar.

Review Notes: The Benchmade is a decent bundle cigar. But being a mix of medium/short fillers, it can be somewhat inconsistent. Some of them are very good, some not so much. All of them have issues with ash falling off very easily (I've had to vacumn up more of the Benchmade ashes out of my keyboard than any other cigar). The flavor, when it's on, is very similar to other Pepin blends: spicy but not overpowering (San Cristobal like?). When it's off, it's just bitter with little in the way of flavor. I think the Famous Nic 3000 is a better bundle cigar than the Benchmade. I'm still going through the first box of the Benchmade so we'll see. The Famous Nic 3000's set a fairly high bar for bundled cigars.
