Review Notes: I normally don't shop for cigars in the areas available as you step off a cruise ship, but this shop was recommended. It did have a relatively small choice available and I was very happy with the choice I made. Appearance was very good with an even wrapper devoid of any blemishes. Well constructed with excellent draw and an even burn for the first half that was a bit compromised by the breezes aboard. Flavor was outstanding and paired well with Pyrat XO.

Review Notes: This has become one of my top 5 go to sticks. Lots of creamy spicy smoke.

Review Notes: In general, I love these. They have a strong, chocolate cedar spice to them. BBFs can be amazingly good, but either they are a bit variable in quality or they must be well chosen to match he occasion. I find them a bit too strong for the full heat of the summer sun; better for an evening in the warm, humid evening with a good Cuban run and conversation. The last one I had was a bit normal and unexciting but I have had oily specimens that are stellar. thi one was a bit like a Cuban cigar from the countryside... rich in 'twang' but a bit preoccupied by dry cedar and soil without the greatness that it can sometimes find. Pretty close to full body but more civilized than a Nicaraguan, by and large, which I typically find close to my target flavours but with rougher edges and little potential for the sublime Cuban flavours... just my preference. I'd put this one at 87 but typically they are 89-91. Not for the faint of heart. I can't wait to try the narrower vitolas for flavour balance.

Review Notes: The Czar says this one is fit for a fox hunt in the driving rain. Not far off. I like strong, aromatic cigars and this is one. However, the taste was darker than expected, with coffee, cedary, chocolatey richness and more power than expected. It's the first one from my cab, so time will tell if it settles into more aroma and less strength, but tastes like the trademark Bolivar blend. The construction was impeccable, as was the chocolatey wrapper, and the Cuban Bolivar band is second to none. Overall, a good cigar but I would prefer even more aroma but less brooding. Not for the faint of stomach.
