Review Notes: I really enjoyed this cigar. It's full bodied, smooth, and has more flavor than a French restaurant.

Review Notes: The presentation of these cigars is wonderful .. they come banded without cello in a standard SLB that puts the Cuban boxes to shame. Held in a bundle with plastic and the yellow ribbon they are a joy to look at, although they simply don't hold a candle to any habano I have had in their smell, which is muted at best. Nonetheless, I bravely snipped one of these guys tonight and sparked her up. Construction was excellent, burn was almost flawless and draw remained perfect to the end. I smoked the two that I have had recently outside at night so I can't comment on ash color, but the ash held reasonably well. The flavors were medium, not as floral as LGCR5, but were very nice nonetheless. Medium body, nice construction, the flavors were kinda complex - perhaps not surprising given the mix of leaves in here, I could not peg tobacco from any one area during the smoke. Nice cigar, highly recommended.

Review Notes: I consider this to be one of the best values out there, and definitely a contender for best smoke under $5. I keep boxes of these around along with LGC Serie 5's which are also another outstanding >$5 stick. The 554 is fuller bodied and stronger, but delivers the same complexity and array of flavors, as well as copious amounts of smoke. I have been through boxes of these and while the construction in terms of appearance can vary, I have never had one that was plugged or that went totally awry in the burn department. The great thing about this cigar is that it is equally at home at a football game or a black tie event.
