Review Notes: Stick looks more like a gran corona than a robusto. It should be called a Corona Gorda. Nice yellowish tan wrapper with plume. The yellow band gives it an old world Cuban flair. Good draw, just at the top end of my resistance meter while still being enjoyable. Smoke volume is good. A bit flat, but its off the truck. Aroma is nice. This size just doesn’t have the complexity or flavor of the Belicoso. I feel that the most flavor is had by the thicker ring guages in this line. This cigar can’t come close to the Belicoso Fino. Its a good enjoyable smoke, but the Beli i find is in another league.

Review Notes: Lighter in body than one would expect from a Don Pepin blend, but it does have out flavor to spare. Woodsy with an underlying sweetness and a hint of leather and nuts. Having broken them during a get-together almost everyone described them as either elegant or refined. Reminded me of a Cuban HdM.

Review Notes: This was a smooth cigar that was relatively mild bodied. The wrapper was very nice, and really light colored. It appeared to be good construction. The cigar was tightly wrapped with a good draw. The ash held on for a long time, and was very white and dense. The cigar had a nutty flavor. About 1/3 way through, the cigar developed a creamy finish. After it was halfway gone, I detected more creaminess. It had an even burn and I did not have to relight it at all. This cigar DID have a TON of nicotine. I finished, stood up, and I was buzzing. Much more nicotine than I'm used to from other cigars.

Review Notes: Modest strength but very little flavor. It was like smoking a green 2x4. This cigar was reccomended by my tobacconist as a fuller boddied smoke and I just don't think it got there. It had a nice draw and a good looking wrapper, but it really fell short in the one spot that counts.

Review Notes: This was a bit of a surprise coming from Don Pepin -- a light bodied cigar with construction problems. It's a very pleasant tasting cigar -- lots of sweet woody flavors -- and a delicate complex aroma that is really fantastic. But I had to fight the draw the whole time. This cigar is just rolled too damn tight, even after a few weeks at 62%. The flavor and aroma are outstanding for a mild cigar, so I will definitely give the Coronas Extra another opportunity to redeem itself. I'm hoping that this one was an anomaly.
