Review Notes:
Very handsome indeed. I'm a sucker for pigtail caps, they seem extra fancy to me. Very straight and firm, with a good weight and a nice, fairly oily wrapper of a medium brown shade with some slight imperfections and light veins. I like the band, too. Snazzy but not too flashy, with the silver backing. Draw was a bit tight, but delivered a large volume of smoke, telling me that this was a very well put together cigar. The burn was near-perfect, with some crookedness after the first ash dropped, but never needing a touch-up as it kept on corecting itself. This was a very mild cigar, but the flavors were good when I could taste them. A nice twang throughout, like a Cuban Montecristo, but with very different flavors of very light intensity. Slow start, with bright citrusy notes and some spice through the first third but not much else. Warmed up after the first inch and became a little leathery with some earthiness and that same brightness, but the spice faded into the background. Continued like this into the final third, where it turned more leathery with some coffee and the hints of spice returned, growing in intensity until it was nubbed. Had a soft, woodsy aroma throughout, slightly spicy only in the beginning and end. Creamy mouth feel and very smooth, with just a litle bit of harshness in some puffs. Mild and fairly complex, just too mild right now for my tastes. A little bland, honestly. Would make a good first cigar of the day. I'm curious what some age would do to these sticks, as the flavors seemed young and there was that slight harshness that would hopefully mellow out. It would probably gain complexity and maybe even some intensity. Fairly enjoyable, just don't expect to be blown away... Should be tried at least once, if you're in the mood for a mild cigar.
