"Off-brand chocolate"

Review Notes: Not sure why everyone is enjoying this cigar. while it does have a nice aroma and perfect burn, nearly every draw was bitter. It is a light cigar in weight (thus burns quick) but heavy on body and strength. Flavor was chocolate and tobacco, with a hint of coffee.

Review Notes: I picked up a box through JR. At $50 for the box, I could not believe the quality of these little guys. Perfect burn, beautiful white ash, easy draw and tasty notes of cocoa and coffee. I've smoked 4 already and they are consistently outstanding! Due yourself a favor and buy a box if you ever catch them on sale again!

"Will age them"

Review Notes: Got these on special from JR. In my limited experience Camachos age especially well, so I thought I'd put these away for a few years. But I just had to try one to see what I might be in for. Beautifully constructed, but the wrapper seemed a little dry to the touch. Probably from traveling across country and only resting for a week before I smoked it. Razor straight burn. The taste started out very chocolatey but quickly the chocolate was overcome by an oaky, earthy flavor that made me wish the cocao would assert itself again. Not that the earthy flavor was bad, it's just that I was loving the slightly sweet cocao. As I smoked the earthy taste deepened and I really enjoyed it. I'm hoping that with age this cigar will show some more sweet tobacco notes and the complexity that I love will come forward. Right now it is a delicious after dinner smoke.

"After a year"

Review Notes: After more than a year in the humidor, these cigars have really come of age. I really liked them before, now I feel like I made a mega deal! These are smooth, chocolate, even burning gems. The only small knock I have on them is that they are a bit light in materials and so burn a little fast. Other than that, I really like these dark beauties. My only other complaint is that JR cigars sent me a broken box...and it is a darn cool box that I wanted to keep. Oh well...the cigar still tastes great!

"Short of expectations"

Review Notes: Other than construction, these are nothing like the Padron Maduro. That being said, smoked my first one right out of the box, it was a little dry and lacked heft, the cap had some crumbling when snipped. Might need some time in the 'dor. I also might plug the next one. Burn was even, ash stays nicely, plenty of easy to draw smoke, medium spice throughout. Somehow this still lacked the flavours I look for in a maduro. Though the box is nice, this may be the last one I buy.
