"Mild? Smooth? or Both?"

Review Notes: I really couldn't tell if this stick was mild or it has just gotten smooth since it's been in my humidor from 1-2 years. Maybe, it's both mild and smooth since I tasted a lot of different subtle flavors which let to a very rewarding smoke. Sure like most Camacho's their not much to look at, but the burn and taste are very good.

"Perhaps I'm a bit more critical now.."

Review Notes: Last November I wrote a review on this stick. Perhaps I have become a bit spoiled smoking many superior cigars (I'm smoking less cigars these days focusing on ones that I find to be better) leading to my rating this cigar a bit lower now. It's still a rough stick a bit of an ugly ducking, dull and bumpy. It burns mostly evenly, needing a bit of help from the torch a third of the way through. The draw is very nice. The flavor is in the med-full range but not too powerful. Chary and not very complex, a sprinkle of Camacho black pepper, burnt cocoa, but somewhat smooth. Nice flavor until near the end when an acrid taste emerged. Still, it is an enjoyable cigar but not a smoking experience that I would look forward to with anticipation. If you smoke a lot of cigars and can find this at a bargain price it is worth putting in the occasional rotation. I received a number of them without charge when C.B. mistakenly sent me these twice instead of the natural wrapper. they ended up letting me keep them free. For the price I paid I can't complain.

Review Notes: UPDATE: In addition to my earlier review, I want to add that, like many Camachos, this one smooths with age w/o losing its pepper! I am enjoying the last of a box that will be replaced soon.

"An enjoyable maduro"

Review Notes: Yes, you win the SLR on cigarbid thinking that you are getting the natural wrapper but you will instead get the maduro. this has happened to e twice already. I really enjoyed the natural but fortunately the maduro is no loss. the maduro features a rough dark brown, very oily wrapper with an uneven cap - very Camacho like. It is solid and hefty with no soft spots. Attractive in a rustic way. Nice cocoa pre-light aroma. Lights up smoothly, great easy draw, right away you get more cocoa, a toasted cocoa taste, a bit charcoal like. This cigar is not real complex. the cocoa-charcoal taste continues with a little bit of mild pepper. It is very tasty however, so no complaints here. This cigar burned evenly. the ash was somewhat weak though and fell off after only about an eighth or so was smoked. Full bodied and smooth tasting it produced clouds of fragrant smoke. Very enjoyable and recommended.

"Good smoke!"

Review Notes: This cigar appeared to have a maduro wrapper, although it did not have the extra "Maduro" banding. I seem to remember hearing on CBid that they shipped a bunch of them with maduro wrappers, but in regular packaging. Anyway, this smoke tasted great. It had the slightest sweetness on my lips at first, with a spicy smoke to accompany it. This smoke delivered the goods and left me more woozy than the regular Monarca I reviewed a few days ago. Great burn, construction, and appearance. I've got 4 left with a few months' age - I hope they're all as good as this one was.
