Review Notes:
I'm a fan of Torano, and this cigar is another example of why. Smooth cinnanmony taste, with that classic Cameroon twang to it. Draw was a little tight on this, but the burn was flawless. Not the large volumes of smoke that you would get on a larger ring guage, but a great stick, nonetheless. I would suggest one of the larger sizes to compensate for that one shortcoming. Worth $4.00? Damn right...pick one up and see for yourself.

Review Notes:
I've gotten to smoke quite a few cameroons lately, and this is definately my current favorite (and i'm usually a dark cigar kind of guy). Spicy-sweet pre-light smell, no noticable veins, beautiful construction, easy draw, perfect slow burn.
Lots of smoke, spices of cumin, tumeric, and white pepper. Hints of petro and a smoldering fire. No bitterness in this for me, mild bodied but full of those lovely cameroon flavors, creamy, very smooth. Not an espresso, but a latte. Perfect for that sunday morning with the paper. I'm buyin myself a box of these.

Review Notes:
Well, my first attempt at rating this didn't go through, so here it goes again...
I tried the 1916 Carona for two reasons: it was given a 90+ review by afficianato and it was under 5 bucks (3.85) at the local shop. Now mind you, my tastes are for cool maduros , typically churchills or rothchilds, or mild-to-medium maduros (don't ask why, but examples are padron 3000, romeo y julieta reserve maduro - rothchild. CAO maduro, etc)... but this one just didn't cut it for me. Too bitter with little spiciness, compared to the ginger-red wrapper and cedar wrap expectations. Better than a swisher sweet, i suppose... barely... for taste.
On the positive side, this had the best 'clinging' salt-n-pepper ash I've had in a LONG long time, the burn was slow and perfect, and I had to try to find a veign in the wrapper. The draw was somewhat limited; minimal smoke drawn but potentcy made up for that. My written opinion in my journal says 'like a straw on fire', meaning the smoke was abundant, but I could have puckered less with a lemon than with trying to suck smoke out of this thing. It was ok, but i'm not buying it as a corona again... Perhaps a larger ring will change things? For the price, I can suffer another one ;)

Review Notes:
I tried the 1916 Carona for two reasons: it was given a 90+ review by afficianato and it was under 5 bucks at the local shop. Now mind you, my tastes are for churchill maduros or super- smooth sticks (padron 3000, CAO black, CAO maduro, etc)... but this one just didn't cut it for me. Too bitter with little spiciness, compared to the red-tinted wrapper and cedar wrap. Better than a gas station special... barely... for taste. On the positive side, this one had the best salt-n-pepper ash I've had in a LONG long time, the burn was slow and perfect, and I had to try to find a veign in the wrapper... draw was somewhat hindered; minimal smoke drawn but potentcy made up for that. It was ok, but i'm not buying it again...

Review Notes:
Decent flavor with lots of smoke. Excellent construction. I would like to try some of the larger sizes because I would have enjoyed smoking this one longer.
