Review Notes:
This cigar presented with a medium-brown, (somewhat) toothy wrapper. For the first inch or so, I found it to be very acidic and nasty, But, it soon settled down. It began to have heavy leather and cedar notes, with a little bite to it. But, I agree with reviews that suggest that it was one dimensional. It remained leathery for the duration. At times, it did have a heavy, rich, smokey flavor, but those nuances were shortlived, and not consistent; as I got infrequent glimpses of those flavors. It never really mellowed, and it never got any richer; just sort of blah. The draw was good, and the construction was good. I was interested to smoke this the day after I smoked a Red-Dot, to make the comparison. I think this one was stronger, heartier, and richer, but was not as smooth and refined as the Red-Dot. I know that its hard to compare the two, but the bitterness of this smoke is what turned me off. I feel the Red-Dot had more balance(regardless of heavy vs. mild comparison). This was an o.k smoke. But, if you like the heavy taste, and the nice buzz, I feel as if there are better options.

Review Notes:
As anybody will tell you (they even put warnings on the box now) THIS is not a cuban. The smoke is a whole lot less money than a cuban, but its a whole lots less cigar too. I was shocked at my first puff when it tasted like artificial sweetner was all over the wrapper. Wierd taste. After the initial shock, I found draw to be good and the smoke to be full. The taste was somewhat bland but not too bad for $2.

Review Notes:
I was not impressed with this cigar. The burn and construction were great, but the taste was bad, at least to me. Mild and bitter, like someone else said like a metal taste. I like strong cigars so that may influence my thoughts on it, but I've had many mild cigars and this one was by far the worst.
I've never tasted filler like this before, and the wrapper, although OK, had a strange taste to it. It was stored fine so that had no effect on it. This is just a strange tasting cigar.
I don't see where all the great reviews for Cohiba D.R. come from. Plus, it is way overpriced. The Cuban is probably better.

Review Notes:
As some other reviews have stated, this cigar has some bite to it. The problems, though, seriously mar its good points. Unlit, the appearance is ok, with an aroma that suggests it’s going to be more than mild in flavour. Getting it lit is easy enough: keeping it lit is nigh impossible. It burns very unevenly, with a serious tendency toward tunnelling. Leave it more than a minute or so and you have to relight it. The flavour, whilst being quite strong, tended to be fairly one dimensional and the cigar never really achieved in doing anything other than annoying me. Overall, disappointing given that this has been quite well reviewed. If the others I've got improve, I'll rate it again, but until then I can't say anything particularly positive.

Review Notes:
I bought a case of these Cohiba Esplendidos for 49.00 because I wanted a humidor full of good smokes. A friend had had a Cohiba a year ago when I first got interested in cigars, and it was good, so I remembered the name. I got my case in, and they were a little dry, so I threw them in the humidor. I got antsy, and about three hours later I snatched a Cohiba up and decided to smoke it, dry or not. The cigar lit very well, and had a great draw. The stick was firm and the wrapper was beautiful. The cigar started tame, then quickly became full bodied, with a great earthy taste and smell. The ash stayed nicely, and the cigar just plain smoked like a champ. After smoking about 3/4 of the stick in 45 minutes (it burned fast because it was on the dry side), I got a serious buzz off the cigar. I smoked it to about an inch from the nub and then tossed it. I sat for another 20 minutes and just enjoyed the buzz and ambience that the cigar had left. These are strong, powerful cigars, and I wouldn't reccomend them to a virgin smoker, but for someone looking for an inexpensive but quality smoke, you can't go wrong. I can't wait until the 24 I have left get up to humidity and age a little, because I have full confidence they will be top notch.
