Review Notes: Clad in a lovely gold embossed cello sleeve and sporting two large and colorful bands, the sun grown wrapper was a glowing golden color with a reddish cast. There was a big green water spot near the head, but other than that the cigar looked lovely. The roll was even and straight with a cap applied in big sweeping strokes. A dry, acerbic pre light flavor also showed a bit of spicy promise. The first few puffs tasted of flour and spice. The roll was tight and the cigar felt good in the hand. A medium firm draw had me struggling just a bit and the smoke proved a little thin and elusive, but the flavor was a nice blend of wood, nuts, and slightly sugared juniper. There was a slight bite to the finish that peeled back to reveal echoes of rich woodiness. The lovely burn was slow and straight and left a very light colored ash that was so uniform in color and texture that it looked painted on. Accompanied with a sweet lemonade, the cigar was very pleasant. It had a very solid and substantial feel, almost swollen under the fingers. At times there was an interesting note that I can only describe as slightly metallic, like used motor oil. The draw closed down a bit as it burned, and there was never a lot of complexity here, just decent, balanced flavor with a hint of spice. Overall this was decent and well made cigar with a nice flavor. Different from the usual Cuesta Rey line and like a muted cousin of the Fuente Sun Grown, but I guess thatís not real surprising. Recommended.

Review Notes: I have to say this little guy was something the notes were powerful with a hint of cedar and licorice. The appearance was lovely, the burn was very even all the way to the nub. Not a very long smoke. A must have in any humidor.
