Review Notes: As a fan of the Fuente dedication to quality, I was anxious to try the DC-Maximus. The original DC was too mild for my taste, so the addition of the Sumatra wrapper sounded like a good addition to a well crafted cigar. I was plesantly surprised with the result! The Rubusto - after a toasting of the foot - sprang to life with a nice draw and plentiful smoke. The flavor is peppery as mentioned in other reviews, but I found the overall complexity to include much more than expected. I smoked the first one down to about an inch/half with a consistent burn and ash. I found this stick to be so enjoyable that I purchased a box on my next trip to my favorite tobacconist. I cant wait to see what additional aging will do for an already excellent cigar.

Review Notes: First off, this is a really great cigar. Awesome burn and ash. Wonderful flavor. But the price tag is just too high. I would recommend a La Gloria Cubana of the same size and half the price over this one.

Review Notes: nice, strong Diamond Crown. I agree with earlier review that DCs are generally too mild. These are very enjoyable, - could use a little more character though . . .

Review Notes: Dark mahogany wrapper glowed with an oily shine that complemented the festive multicolored band. One prominent vein marred an otherwise flawless presentation and reached the length of the cigar causing a slight bulge in the massive and well constructed cap. Nice pre light bite on the tongue and a telltale tingle on the lips. Once coaxed to life this cigar delivered decent amounts of smoke and a relatively even burn. There was a stout body and a wall of intoxicating flavor including notes of evergreen, sage, moss, and a nice complexity. Big finish had a slightly dry edge which tapered to a lingering tingle in the mouth. The solid roll yielded a resolute light colored ash that towered to half the length of the stick before being knocked loose, and the cigar never softened as it burned. Great mouth feel. A nice solid companion to a bottle of Peter Lehman Clancys Australian red, the cigar had a nice slow burn that lasted a long while. Impressive range of flavors kept the pressure on for the length of the smoke with plenty of power in the blend. The Ecuadorian wrapper lent an interesting twist to the Fuente smoothness and a nice exotic aroma to the ambient smoke. Overall this was an intriguing cigar that offered a nice one-two punch of full body and complex flavor. There was a lot to this stick. Worth $9.50 each? Maybe, its hard to quantify the enjoyment. But this is still one cigar that everyone should try once if just for the experience of the artistic presentation. Recommended.
