"Couldn't decide to eat or smoke it!"

Review Notes: I'm thinking I did the right thing by smoking it. I have been holding this cigar in my humidor for about a year knowing that this would be perfect for a special occasion. So July 4th(05), the time was right. I had a Ashton VSG the night before for the first time, and it was awesome. Great Fuente flavors came through, perfect burn and great aroma. I figured since I can't go wrong with anything associated with Fuente, I'd do the Diamond Crown while watching fireworks. As I examined the perfect wrapper I couldn't wait to light it up! The first few puffs were very bland but smooth. Fine I thought, give this until after the first ash and all those great flavors would come through. This is the next day, and that cigar is still about 3 inches long. I tossed it into my flower bed in disgust. This sort of reminds me of my first Dom. Monte #2. All hype, no flavor. I would have done better to smoke rolled up paper bags as I did smoking this cigar. I've never had a Maximus, but I'll give one a try. It can't be worse than this one. Sorry, a beautiful cigar, but it just doesn't deliver.

"Not a maximus"

Review Notes: this cigar was a big let down after having a diamond crown maximus first. i wasn't expecting it to be as good and it wasn't even close to the maximus. i would compare it to an ashton a good mild cigar not too complex, good aroma and taste. burn was good until the end when it began to burn unevenly.

"Cubanesque"

Review Notes: Looks ok....but not all that special. Good solid construction. The 1st inch holds nothing special. It kind of reminds me of a typical mild Dominican. There is a straightforward tobacco flavor here that reminds me a bit of your 1st unfiltered Lucky Strike or Camel. About an inch in the flavor starts to warm up. There is a distinct Cubanesque quality to the nose. A creamy mild to medium bodied cigar, with some nice mellow complexities. The Cubanesque aspect in the aroma intensifies in the 2nd half. Very nice!

"Expensive but good"

Review Notes: At $10.50 per stick, this may be one of those few and far between purchases. But there are plenty of reasons to buy again. Flawless construction with smooth wrapper and a very straight burn. Solid tobacco flavors the entire length in this medium to full body cigar. Only drawback is price.

Review Notes: This is perhaps the best cigar I've ever smoked. The hell with Cubans, J.C. Newman has out done them all
