"Leather with mississippi mud"

Review Notes: Pepper dominate the first half of the cigar and once into the sweet spot the delicious traste of mud mixed with pine straw kicks into gear as the burn moves nice but no where near the complex taste of an actual premium cuban. Dont be fooled by the gorgeous packagaing. The first half of the cigar is very peppery, medium full to full body but doesnt rest too heavy on nthe stomach. The sweet spot of the cigar gives off some nice leather tones however it has a muddy taste to it. THis is a incely packaged cigar that is Not a bouquet of various tastes. After the pepper domination the muddiness will take over along with notes of damn pine straw on the finish. Overrated cigar from a taste standpoint as other Don Pepins have far more taste than these cuban pretenders.

"DPG's Magnum Opus!"

Review Notes: Attractive cigar with little to no oiliness on the wrapper. Once lit, I was assailed with the typical DPG spice with additional notes of caramel and sweet cinnamon. Unfortunately, I had BIG problems with the wrapper. This is the second one of these I've smoked and both times, the wrapper cracked, peeled away from the burning stick, and I immediately noticed an absence of flavor from the wrapper as it was swaying in the breeze. Between a lot of time trying to reseal the wrapper with spit and the higher price tag, I did finish the smoke both times. Still, perhaps this shape is a little too adventurous? A BIG winner in other vitolas, but bad construction on these.

Review Notes: A super cigar when aged. I think "auburnfan1980" pretty much nailed it, with the review below. I can't quit agree with the strength of his conviction. To me a very good cigar, but not a great one. I liked the petit cornona almost as much as this one.

"Pure Creamy Spicy Goodness!"

Review Notes: Let's begin, shall we? The pre-light draw was very nice, and construction is certainly top-notch. It was an easy light with an even burn to start. Right from the gates- I'm talking the first few puffs I take of this thing, the peppery taste makes it presence known. However, this is also accompanied with a somewhat creamy/leathery feel to it as well. During the first third of this stick, the draw and burn are both fantastic with no flaws whatsoever. The pepper became very predominant early and often, but towards the end of the first third, gave way to heavy flavors of cocoa and coffee. Very satisfying body and flavor so far. Half-way through this smoke, the pepper has subsided, and though this is clearly a full-bodied smoke, it's now very smooth with hints of earth and leather, and the earthy flavor continuing on predominantly through this segment of the smoke. Going in to the final third and home-stretch of this cigar, the draw continues to be absolutely fantastic as it has been throughout and the burn has been quite consistent. This stick, though full, has become extremely smooth and even more satisfying with a leathery/creamy feel and hints of wood and earth towards the end. I hated to have to put this stick down, so I nubbed it all the way down! I must say that after being told how well this stick would appeal to my flavor-profile and having the anticipation being built up for so long, it did not disappoint at all, even surpassing all expectations as lofty as they may have been. I would strongly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a full-bodied experience complete with peppery-creamy-goodness. Though not for the faint-of-heart, it's very satisfying, and one of the best sticks I've tried over the past year.
