"Ultra Mild"

Review Notes: I bought a five pack of these because I wanted to try a candela wrapped cigar. The first thing I noticed was the incredible silky feel of the wrapper. As I lit this one up it started unremarkable, but soon the normal tobacco flavor became laced with flavors like green tea and earth. the most interesting thing was a tickling sensation on the tip of my tongue; it was almost tangy. It is a very mild cigar. You can even smoke this one on an empty stomach. I had a few burn issues but for the price I was not disappointed. At about two and a half inches left it became harsh and I had to put it out. I think that may be because of this particular shape. If you like candelas, you'll like Don Tomas.

"Nice change of pace novelty smoke."

Review Notes: The silky feel of the wrapper alone makes this worth a try. Not a lot of flavor but it has a hint of spice and a natural sweetness that is very light and refreshing. Well made with an even burn. Hard to believe the wrapper is 18 yrs old as it was still pretty pliable.

"A solid smoke"

Review Notes: I was a little surprised how much flavor and smoke this candela contained. Not nearly so mild as Indian Tabac's candela, but retaining that refreshing grassy candela taste with a slight sweetness. The construction was a little loose, causing it to get a little hot towards the end. However, it burned just fine as long as it wasn't left unattended for more than a minute. An altogether pleasant experience, probably enjoyable even for folks who don't think they like candelas.

"Still good"

Review Notes: One of the first boxes of hand rolled cigars I ever bought. Four years later I still like the easy draw and am surprised at the body that they deliver for a candela. Grassy taste yes but that is overcome by a bit of tobacco bite and will satisfy that after breakfast "nicotine need".

"A steal at the price"

Review Notes: JFK loved Candelas but they are hard to find. I've been seeing the DT's more and more. At first I was skeptical of the price. (How can a $2.20 cigar be all that good??) I was pleasantly surprised. It really has a wonderful vegetable/grassy taste...I know that may sound gross to some, but I really enjoy these. Beyond the mild, sweet wrapper, the filler used in these is darn good too...a nice change of pace for a regular smoker.
