Review Notes: A low to mid-priced stick with a pretty maduro wrapper and good construction. The prelight scent is funky -- very earthy, in a way maduro lovers will appreciate. The wrapper throws off a nice sweet char, but the core flavor is cardboardy and a little bitter. It's not the worst cigar in the world, but you can get a Sabor Cubano or SLR Serie G for around the same price and get your maduro fix in a much more satisfying manner.

"Tastes like a 3$ stick"

Review Notes: I was in search for a nice inexpensive cigar that I wouldn't be ashamed to hand out or smoke on occasion. I usually pay between $5-9 for a cigar and usually not disappointed. This cigar was 2.99 and looked really nice. It had a nice dark wrapper, and looked better than $3. It lit easily and had a great ash that held on for a little over an inch. The taste, however, was very poor. At first puff I thought I found a nice cheap smoke. It was fairly spicy and had a nice sweet after taste. It was on the mild side for me but I thought it was going okay. After the first few puffs or so it lost any spice it originally had and developed a bland flavor, albeit still sweet. Soon thereafter it developed a nasty aftertaste that I can only compare to battery acid. I was hoping that it would go away but it lingered on for the rest of the smoke. I put it out with about an inch and a half left, which is quite impressive for me considering I usually smoke a cigar to the nub (less than half an inch). Overall it tasted like a $3 smoke. Maybe it is the Mexican tobacco, the only other cigar I've had with Mexican tobacco was a Big Butt and that was horrible as well. For $4.79 I picked up a CAO Mx2 and for a little less I can get a HDM Dark Sumatra, these two cigars are worth much more than their stickers.

"Dissapointed"

Review Notes: I was looking for a nice low-cost filler for my humidor that I could smoke on non-special occassions or give away. I paid 2.99 for this and 4.79 for a CAO Mx2. I tried to let the cost of the cigar not bias my decision. It lit quite nicely and the first couple of draws had a nice spicy note with a sweet finish. The spiciness did not last long. After the first 1/2 inch or so it was gone but the sweetness persisted. It was pretty enjoyable for a little while but about an 1 1/2 inches in it got a weird sour almost rancid after taste. I usually smoke my cigars down to the nub, where my fingers usually suffer damage, but I couldn't force myself to smoke anymore and I left it with about 2 inches left. The ash was nice and solid and the construction was pretty darn good but it just had a nasty aftertaste. It was more mild than medium to me as well.

"Downhill fast"

Review Notes: This cigar looked like it had everything going for it--excellent wrapper, good looking construction, perfect draw. The first inch and 1/2 or so had a wonderful, sweet maduro flavor and was smooth as silk. Burned perfectly even, and had a gorgeous white ash. However, I think someone stuffed some grass clippings in the middle of this thing. The taste got hot and bitter, and the pleasant flavors turned sour. This became a DNF.... Based on the other ratings, I may have gotten a bad one. I was looking for a "cost effective" alternative to my beloved Ashton Aged Maduros--but this ain't it! I'm not saying I wouldn't try again, but it isn't likely with so many other good sticks in this price range.
