Review Notes: Fantastic maduro smoke the best on the market for the price point beolw $3 for a 54 ring gauge superior construction with long trails of white ash which softly drops off when nudged. Absolute spice bang from the git go, an array of spiceiness dominates the cigar until its final third it begins to change to a more earthly complexion with some hints of fruits come thru the delicious even luxurious smoke. King of the World maduro is a fantastic smoke at any price point as this cigar would destroy cigars costing 3,4 and even 5 times as much. treat Yourself to this medium full explosion of critical proportions. They got this hummdinger correct as its a terrific cigar!

"Finest ERDM line"

Review Notes: Maybe the blends have changed since the other reviews, but I found this cigar to be exceptional. It was extremely complex. The first third started off like a regular ERDM--same consistent flavor profile. It was the second third and final third where I felt it distinguished itself from the other lines. When I got to the second third, a pronounced leathery, mild spicy overtone surfaced. I read floral notes as well that were subtle, but there for a sensitive palate. It was like the aroma you get when flowers blossom-- almost jasmine like. These flavors seemed to dance with each other. The last third got even better. It surprisingly did not take on the usual charred taste. It kept on evolving-- pepper, cedar, mild cocoa, jasmine. Beautiful mix. I smoked the cigar until my finger started burning. i could not put it down. This is a top notch cigar and certainly the best ERDM I have had (I have smoked almost all of their lines). The construction was top notch. No problems whatsoever. No soft spots, nothing. I bought a 5 pack for about 30 dollars. That was a steal. Give this one a try,

"These age like Catherine Deneuve"

Review Notes: Having just smoked a youthful (but improving) ERDM Robusto, it seemed a good time to revisit a well-aged FdL for comparison. Complex and medium strength. A nice amount of sweetness. Woody, a touch nutty, with some chocolate and black coffee. Absent are the strong peppery notes from the newer robusto. Heaps of good stuff in a mature, balanced package.

"Rock solid smoke"

Review Notes: This one's as solid and consistent as they come. Bought a box of 35 in 2000, still have about eight left. They smoked like champs on Day One, and they're at least as good today. I've never experienced the harshness noted by other tasters. Core flavor is sweet wood, with a distinct undertone of dark chocolate. Medium bodied, but extraordinarily rich. They turn slightly charry at the end, but never enough to bother me. Essentially, it's a slightly cheaper Punch Gran Cru #2. I can't swear I'd be able to tell them apart in a blind taste test. Not exactly a budget smoke, but still a staple, IMO.
