"Interesting and enjoyable"

Review Notes: As others have mentioned these are kind of old school in a good way. The construction was excellent which led to a good even burn that stayed cool the entire smoke. The flavor was on the woody side of earthy and not too sweet or spicy. Very different from my normal Nicaraguan powerhouse style cigar, but I enjoyed it very much. It had been in my humidor for less than a year.

Review Notes: Made the mistake of having one of these in the morning. I had to lay down for 30 mins afterwards. Will only smoke in the evening after a meal from now on. Anyways, this was an amazing cigar. Exceeded expectations. Had a wonderful nutty flavor and a unique fermented sort of taste. Kind of like amaretto. Perfect burn, perfect draw, never got hot and lasted longer than expected.

Review Notes: I still have a few of these left. After many months of aging, still not too much flavor. Well constructed, good draw, good burn, just so-so flavor. tossed this one with 1/3 left.

"Rustic Look, Unique Flavor, Great Value"

Review Notes: This stick has an old school feel to it. It's also a great buy. The burn and draw were both appropriate. What makes this cigar standout from the rest is the unique flavor. It begins spicy, but about a third of the way in a tangy-zesty sourness takes over. It's sort of like sour grape bubblegum without the grape or the sweetness. I guess after reading that last sentence, it would be best to say the taste is hard to describe. Anyway, I think many will find it appealing, but probably not for everyone. My favorite of this line are the Cosacos, which is a smaller version, maybe because as Bangy says the taste of the wrapper comes through better with the smaller ring guage. Still, I appreciated the "different" taste of this cigar.

"A Good cigar"

Review Notes: I've smoked these several times already but all were OTT. The other day I fished 3 out of the bottom of my Humi that I had forgotten about. I'm guessing they have about 6-8 months of age. Time has done wonders for this cigar. As per usual from the Matasa factory the construction, draw and burn are perfect. They still retain that dryness when taking a hit but it also has a nice cedary taste, a little spiciness along with a gentle kick of pepper. It has a bit of strength but not so much that you would shy away from it as a morning smoke. As another reviewer mentioned, these may do better in a smaller ring gauge so one can enjoy the Criollo wrapper a bit more. It's somewhat muted by the filler in the larger ring gauges. All in all this is a fine smoke. It's an exclusive to the CI/CBid people so make sure you hit their auction site to buy them as the retail price at CI is somewhat high for what you get.
