"Liked the natural better"

Review Notes: Not much going on here. Just a well-constructed inexpensive cigar which I hoped would be some kind of classic value or something. No. You get what you pay for. It's a good cigar, just not great. Flavors are cedary and leathery but then only a bit. Good aroma but not enough smoke. One relight was necessary.

"Subtle Maduro"

Review Notes: I enjoy the Gispert naturals, so I thought I'd try the Maduro's and this was my first. It really was an attractive cigar with it's square, box pressed design which fit well in my hand. The drawn and burn were good, though not great. The taste for the first half of this cigar was more like a hybrid and lacked the rich, chocolate taste of most maduro's. It was subtle with a nice sweetness in which I was well pleased. The second half was more earthy and had a little more cocoa, but I didn't find it as tasty and brought down my rating from the first half. This is a nice cigar if you don't mind that it's more subtle than rich in it's maduro taste, and if that is the case you'll find it a bargain.

"Better at 65%"

Review Notes: A lot of cigar vendors keep theri cigars at 70% humidity, which is a pretty safe bet in many cases. However, maduro cigars seem to get gummed up at this RH and so seem to be poorly constructed. I keep all of my cigars at 65% and let me tell ya, it makes a difference sometimes. in this case, it was a BIG difference between a tight , suck your eyeballs inward, draw and a smooth easy draw that let in the flavor and let the smoke pur out. This cigar went from pretty good to very good in a few short months. The draw really opened this cigars nutty flavors up for me.

"Chaep and decent"

Review Notes: If you get this for 2 bucks or so, don't complain. It is basic and has a bit of a tough draw at times, but the flavor is interesting enough to keep medium cigar smokers going to the end. Looks nice in the humidor too. Keep it in there for a good 3 months.

"Good Value"

Review Notes: Draw was okay on the ones I've smoked. Burn is a little uneven. Fairly tight ash. Starts out harsh then mellows a little after about an inch. Pretty much one-dimensional for the first couple of inches. Charred woodiness gives way to hints of anise about halfway. The last half turns coffee-like and finishes creamy and nutty with a hint of sweetness. At a little over $2.00 a stick/per box, a very good value.
