Review Notes:
This, to me, is the epitome of the "post-boom" smoke; proof that the pendulum has completely swung back from the days of poorly built, green, bland $7 sticks. When you can get a well-crafted, well-blended, strong cigar like this one at $2.50, it's a damn good time to be a smoker.
The wrapper is very dark and oily with unobtrusive veins. Unlike some previous reviewers, I've encountered minimal construction issues. They all draw, and most have burned straight. The flavors are huge. If I were trying to explain "the corojo flavor" to a new smoker, I'd just hand him one of these. There are plenty of good corojos out there, but this one's the poster child. If there's a knock on this smoke, it's that the flavor doesn't change gears. It's all right up front. Minor beef, but if you prefer smokes with twists in the plotline, this one will bore you. If, however, you're looking for reliable med-full body at a price that'll make you feel like you stole something, get a box.
