"Even better than last time"

Review Notes: I've had this one in my humidor since before my previous review, in July. It's a beautiful day in hot'lanta so I grabbed this Gran Habano #3 Churchill and headed for the deck. This one looked much nicer than the last one, and performed even better. Despite a poor light in the slight breeze it burned perfectly to the nub without a touch-up or re-light. The flavors were medium, but outstanding for a medium-bodied smoke, and absolutely no bitterness even at the very end. The burn was slow, (over 2 hours!) with a medium amount of smoke. So from my limited experience of only 2 cigars, these do improve with age. I couldn't ask much more from a smoking experience. It wasn't a "wow" cigar, but one that satisfies every way possible. It reminded me of a Cuban Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No. 1 without the Cuban "twang", if that makes sense. I have also smoked the Rothschild, but this narrower gauge accents the great tasting wrapper for an even better flavor.

"Value in spades"

Review Notes: Kudos to Gran Habano! This cigar could be a great find during a belt-tightening period for me. Who wouldn't like to find a delicious, guiltless, premium cigar that can be enjoyed every day? While it wasn't pretty, the Gran Habano excelled in all other important phases. The draw was perfect which led to an uneventful, sharp burn and flavors I've become accustomed to from Don Pepin Garcia and Romeo y Julieta in Habano. At $5 at my local B&M and less than $70 a box on-line, I'm paying attention. And who cares about appearances anyway? It's a cigar, not a girlfriend.

"Don't age these"

Review Notes: Ashman your right on the money sir. These just don't seem to age well at all. Mine went flat. I find it kind of funny that my robustos did fine, and the burn didn't get any better with age either. Oh well live and learn. Just be sure to smoke these in this size OTT.
