Review Notes: The Graycliff 1666 Pirate torpedo is a premium cigar that averages around $10 to $15 a stick. Well constructed with a beautiful pre-smell, I lit the end and let it sit a moment before smoking. It had a nice blue smoke and the first taste was delicious. Sweet hints of sweet woods and mocha with a smooth creamy flavor dominated the first 1/3 of the cigar. I am loving this! Half way though, the mocha continued and the strength built to a medium cigar with a touch of black pepper. It was still creamy and spicy during this part but then the delight disappeared. During the final part of the smoke that nasty metallic taste appeared. No way! Not with this good cigar!!! I tried to get this out of my mind, but the metal was still there. Some call it a clean cedar taste, but it aint! I have a few more which I will cook in the humi before another light. Hopefully this will soften the last part of the smoke. Buy again? If not for the finish I would say YES. But there are better $10 cigars on the market.

"Dark and Smooth"

Review Notes: This was quite a nice smoke ... I was expecting it to knock me on my kiester based on the color the wrapper, but was nicely surprised by an extremely smooth smoke. I found some really nice undertones of spice. My only real complaint was the burn was a little un-even. I got these on a sampler package at a nice price and will let the others soak up some spanish cedar for a few months before I do another.

Review Notes: ok taste, uneven burn, one of these cigars that test price high, suggesting to the cust they must be good...They're not...! Were the worst of a sampler of 5 different sticks I bought. Its a crime if these are more than 2-3 bucks per...

Review Notes: GC is not what it used to be, but they still make fine cigars. The construction is good here, even if the flavor is kind of missing. I only paid 6 bucks, so that helps.

"Are you a scurvy ridden scallywag?"

Review Notes: I can't spell - Nevertheless, this cigar was touted as the best and for the price paid ($18) I expected so... It was a milder cigar for my liking, but nicly put together. Pretty wrapper and nice burn. The smoke was not as thick as I would have preferred. All in all a good cigar - not great and not for this price. It lacked the characteristics I would look for in a good cigar for aging - that then puts it squarely in competition with my Padron Anniversary as my "out of the box" champ. No comparison at this price. Just none. Worth trying as I could see this cigar appealing to a milder palate.
