Review Notes:
I had tried this brand cigar previously (Master Select series) I liked them very much, so naturally when I came across a good deal on some of the Ltd.- Expedition Series I had to try them. This is the second time I have smoked the torpedo, and I have been longing to smoke another one ever since. I smoked the first one about 3 weeks ago. The torpedo is a great looking cigar, it has a wonderful dark oily wrapper, and lots of large veins. The cap on this one is a little marred up, but all of the others I have in my humidor look wonderful. This cigar is wonderfully constructed, it has a very solid wrap to it, a just feels great in your fingers. The almost gritty wrapper makes you seem like you could never let go of this one. I normally don't remove the band untill I get down to them, but this one having such a large band, I removed it before lighting up. In the process of doing this I damaged they wrapper slightly, some of the glue tore a piece of the wrapper off. This also happened one the first one I smoked so be very careful removing the band. After cutting, unlit, this cigar had a bit of a hard draw, but as soon as I lit the torpedo it had a very nice draw from start to finish. The burn on this one was almost perfect, even down to the last inch and a half. Being a bit greedy I tried to get a coulple last hits off this one and it started to burn up one side, but it was all worth it. This cigar was very smooth medium bodied, and had great cedarish and earthy taste to it. There was another flavor also but I couldn't put my finger on what it was. Overall I was very happy, this baby kept me busy for about two hours. I have a few left in the humidor and I can't wait to smoke another one. I highly recommend the Gurkha Ltd.- Expedition Series Torpedo, I am sure I will buy more of these. As usual I purchased these from an internet cigar shop, they cost me around $6.00 each (much cheaper than their bigger brother the Master Select). Get some for yourself I promise you will not be disappointed.
