Review Notes: Over the last six months I have smoked three of these cigars. The first one, with only a few weeks rest, was a very forgettable smoke; dirty leather is the only way to describe it. Towards the middle it mellowed out quite a bit but then went right back to nasty. The second was a little better but not much. Spicy to start off with a more distinct tobacco taste not as reminisced of the dirty leather tasting first stogie. Last night I tried the third one which has improved greatly. With a peppery start this cigar mellowed out almost immediately, the aroma was very nice and the taste was more of a smooth cocoa/coffee for the first ĺ of the cigar before turning a little bitter. This stick produced a tremendous amount of creamy smoke! As with every Gurkha I seem to light up, this cigar had an uneven burn and construction (wrapper) problems. Sometimes I think all the bands on Gurkha products are placed strategically to keep the cigar from falling apart. All in all I was pleased with the third one in this line. I have three more remaining and will space smoking them out accordingly. If this trend continues, six months down the line I may have found a really well rounded friend. Then, all Iíll have to do worry about should patience and the lofty price. Way to expensive.

"Nice Looking FATTIE (LOL)"

Review Notes: I just love the look of this stogie. A classic perfecto. The shape reminds of the joints I use to roll back in the 1970's ... all fat in the middle, and narrowing off at both ends. A very handsome wrapper, chestnut brown and shiny, with some thin veins here and there. Very full body, but smooth. Nice draw through the narrow end, which is pre-cut. Some major burn issues, "canoes" for about the entire first half. I have had this problem before with these cigars. A very strong, straight forward tobacco flavor, with not much else to talk about. I would only recommend these for experienced smokers, that prefer strong and fuller body smokes. And don't go by the $30 MSRP, they are available for much less. I have seen these go for really nice prices at auction.

"Typical Gurkha with a silly MSRP"

Review Notes: Good cigar, probably a solid $5 - $6 cigar. Maybe Gurkha should just sell their cigars in gas stations with their gimmick prices. But the cigar had depth of flavor, and burned nicely.

Review Notes: After about a year of aging, I tried this one combined with some nice Islay malt. Slightly grassy at light, this turned smooth and robust with earthy, toasty, nutty and cubanesque charry tones. Truly outstanding. One of the few that my girlfriend likes the smell of (though she won't actually try it). Top notch burn, one of the best out there, I hope they don't stop making them.

"Worth The Money"

Review Notes: I was given a couple of these cigars as gifts over the Xmas holiday. What a wonderful gift it was. Excellent construction, excellent looking cigar (it one those that I hate to smoke because it looks so good sitting in the humidor), excellent draw, & one of the best smokes I've ever had. It was strong without being harsh & it burned evenly from tip to butt. The only problem I see with the cigar is the MSRP of $30.00, but since I see that the average price paid was $7.00 I would say the the cigar is well worth the money & then some. I don't know what the cost at my local cigar shop is because I haven't purchased any myself yet. PLEASE NOTE: From now on I'm rating the value on the cigar on how much I enjoyed smoking it, not on how much it cost. Since these were gifts to me & I didn't pay for them, I'm putting the average in the price paid.
