"Another good, if not over-priced, Gurkha"

Review Notes: The cigar I pulled looks very good: typical medium khaki wrapper, but virtually no spots, veins, blemishes of any kind. Impressive looking cigar. Pre-light, the bouquet has a slight spice, and the pre-light draw was fairly typical. Upon lighting the cigar, I got a little spice, some light coffee, a bit of white pepper, and just a hint of anise on the top. The flavors were not super distinct, and I had to reacg to pick them out, so I would assert the smoke was muddy initially. About 2" in, the spice and white pepper muted, and a cedary flavor was introduced. At the 1/2 point, black pepper joined the party and the spice returned, building until the end. It sounds like a complex smoke, but it was fairly even-tempered. The ash was white-grey, and initially held on to about the 2" point. The high volume of smoke held no surprise aromas not present. I rec'd this in a sampler, so the cost for the stick was <$4; I wouldn't pay $9 for this stick, as that is the MSRP for 1. All in all, a pleasant, mild-medium smoke.

"Still missing something"

Review Notes: I've had some of these for almost a year. I made the big mistake in the cigar world by ordering a bunch of these after smoking only one sample (which was phenominal). Every one of these I've had since then have just not had the same flavor. This one has improved a bit with some age on it, but it still does not have that same someting that my original one did. Construction and burn are top notch. Flavor was tangy-woody that did not change a bit through the burn. I would not buy more of these. Value based on $3/stick.

"Tasty and Consistent"

Review Notes: I don't smoke a ton. I got a 10 pack sampler of these about 6 months ago and threw them in the humi. Since then I've smoked about 4. Every single one burned razor straight with dense ash that has to be knocked off after an inch. Great draw...not to hot but without effort. I tend to get bored with mild cigars and like some pretty strong cigars, but overall I appreciate medium + with wee bit of spice and leathery/tobaccoy flavor. This cigar really fits the bill and is a solid good cigar. If you can get em for under 6.00 a stick retail (I live out west where it's expensive) then it'd be acceptable. If you can get 'em on-line for under $4.00 a stick then they're a deal.

"Smooth, nice draw..."

Review Notes: This cigar was very pretty to look at and constructed nicely. Started to burn a little uneven at start, but was correctable. The draw was smooth and smoke was voluminous. The ash was long and layered nicely. Lots of cedar and wood, complemented by some sweet spices on the finish. No earth-shattering changes from beginning to end as far as flavor, but burn got better after the 1/3 mark. All in all, an enjoyably mellow, medium-bodied smoke. For the price I paid, absolutely unbeatable. But for the MSRP, I would not be buying many of these.
