Review Notes: Nice cigar with tons of smoke. Let it age though for a better taste.

"Sweeter and Creamier Than I Expected"

Review Notes: My experience with the Master Select line has been limited to the Presidente and the XO prior to this No. 1 Perfecto. I knew I already really had a liking to the taste profile...But, had some issues with the XO spliting and on some uneven burns too. The Presidente faired better with just a burn correction or two on some sticks. Yet, as stated, I really love the flavor. More food like and less wood like in a nutshell. The flavor is usually toaty butter with nutty tones to me. Maybe a little spice as the stick progresses, but not a tingler in my book. Well, this No. 1 is all of the above, but these that I've got in my possession now are definitely sweeter and creamier tasting. I'm saying this not in a bad way, of course. I like this cigar. It's downright pleasant. Smells good too and is burning really fine with that white ash I expected. Of note was right at first it seemed just a little hard to draw and before I knew it that was self corrected somehow. Nice.

"Well Aged"

Review Notes: This fat boy was in my humidor for over a year and the results were a good justification for aging these cigars at least that long. Compared to the Gurkha Master Select Double Corona it was much more complex and the burn was superior. Still, I've found, construction is the weak point in all Gurkha Master Select Cigars. This cigar is worth buying if you can find it for 5 bucks or less.

"Friendly, but Serious"

Review Notes: The first thing I noticed was how slowly this cigar burns. It took a good fifteen minutes just to burn through the tip, producing a nice solid white ash. It started out fairly mellow and creamy, an earthy base with nutty notes. Slowly the nuts gave way to a woody flavor, and by the end of the cigar, a little after the mid-point, the flavor gets intensely peppery. The finish is mild and quick to start with and by smokeís end is sinus tingling with lingering spice. The burn wavers a little bit, but other than that, great construction. An excellent perfecto, worth far more than the going price.
