"Bad construction, good smoke"

Review Notes: I had the same binding, and uneven burn issues most people had. Once the burn corrected its self I was able to enjoy. Nice spice the first half, than nice toast, with a little nutty taste 2nd half. The entire time it had nice buttery smoke. I received this cigar in a bundle pack, I don't know that I would buy a box but still a good cigar from a great brand. P.S if it helps anyone this was in my humidore for about 2months.

"Crippled Construction Mars Good Smoke"

Review Notes: I've now smoked about three of the XO smokes and I feel qualified to pass judgement. I've liked the Masters Select in the past, always smoking The Presidente profile. This was my first...and last box of XO's. I hate to say it because it's not due to the taste, but due to the trouble of smoking the big stick. First, lets say that the tastse is excellent as it is very toasty, buttery, and nut like. The woody taste isn't strong, but comes in and out in a nice subtle way. This, my friends, is a solid favor profile worthy of mid to upper mid-priced cigar. It's one I like to have in the rotation and can depend on. I wish I could say the same about the construction which is crippled. The wrapper, Cameroon I believe, is the thinnest I've ever experienced. That would not matter if it was not also the most fragile I've came across. That wrapper married to a huge ring...Well, you can imagine. If it only cracks you are most fortunate indeed because it usually also unravels - sometimes immediately when you clip the cap! The binder then seems to burn unevenly requiring you to correct it - this will not be a one time thing either with a cigar this large. If you get through it you earned every bit of that nice flavor received. The trouble, however, more often than not mars the experience and therein lies the downfall of this particular stick. If you like a nice medium body smoke with this same flavor just buy the 'Presidente' size. I've had better luck with that and our local cigar club seemed to like it well when we had it a year or so back. I wish that Gurkha dude would read this because as I read remarks by others here I am thinking my box was not unusual.

Review Notes: Excellent taste. Creany and not sharp at all. I think the reviewer who gave it an 8.33 had a different smoke. The quality control is poor. We bought 2 boxes and the draw varies on every smoke. Sometimes it is like sucking a ping pong ball through a garden hose. The burn is always uneven. The wrapper is thin and always splits towards the end. If the construction was like the CAO Italia Piazzo, you would have a fine smoke. Tastes great, but built very poor.

"Mine are great"

Review Notes: Funny the last two reviews were so bad about this tasty smoke. Mine was in the humi for at least 1 1/2 yrs now and I finally pulled it out for the Super Bowl. The burn was razor sharp and the over all construction was as good as it gets. It was a long and very enjoyable smoke. Very tasty, I just loved the spicy/peppery taste of the first half.

"Pass on It"

Review Notes: Unbalancedand sharp. Wrapper came undone 1/2 through. Marketer should find another factory to make them. Premium? Take a pass on it.
