Review Notes:
I usually smoke the Torpedo on this weekend every April with the Black dogs frolicking and the dogwoods flowering. This year I decided to try the churchill. All I can say is, "it's a great line". I think Gurkha Regent cigars are best with about 8-10 months of age on them. After that they mellow a bit an aren't as rich. This cigar was in the humidor about 18 mos. and it still had flavors of chocolate and chocolate milk. The burn was very good as was the appearance. Like I said this line is hard to beat, though I prefer the torpedo.

Review Notes:
DISCLAIMER: I am not a Gurkha fan; I've found construction (particularly the wrappers) on many to be lacking and the flavor much weaker than claimed.
That said, Mickey the Moose hits it spot on: a fine cigar, very reminiscent of the Torano Exodus 59. Got it on CBid at a steep, steep discount (does anyone pay full retail for Gurkha? if so, they're throwing away money, because virtually every series is available for auction at a fraction of the price). Sat in the humi for at least two months. Was looking for something new to smoke, came across these, and enjoyed 90 minutes of smoking pleasure.
Excellent soft box press construction, straight burn, tight white ash. But it's the flavor: cool, mellow, rich, and, yes, chocolatey. That's an overused descriptor, but it definitely applies here. No bite or harshness at all. The flavor is a bit one dimensional, so I subtracted a point, but it's a damn good flavor, so I'm ok with it. Value score reflects the price that can be had at auction.
Enjoy.

Review Notes:
Having split a box of these when they first came
out, I had a few sitting for over 6 months. It was
time to spend a couple hours raking leaves, in
the cool late fall air, so I pulled out a Fusion church.
What a TREAT! One of my most memorable
smokes of 2007, along with the San Cristobal.
The flavors blended very well with aging, and
the volumes of coool smoke made for an
excellent experience, despite doing yard work.
I've since split a box of Fusion torps, which I also
highly recommend.

Review Notes:
I recently purchased a mazo of 10 online, and I have to say that I disagree with many who review this line negatively. Sure, Gurkhas are generally overpriced, but most people pay FAR less than retail by ordering them online, so in reality they are a pretty good cigar for the money. When you first light up this Churchill, there is a very distinct aroma and taste. I try not to describe cigars as chocolaty, but these Gurkha's have the most distinct Chocolate flavor I have ever encountered in a cigar. The flavor is pretty consistent throughout, and I must say, a bit one dimensional, but it is a good dimension! Burn was reasonably good and required only very minor touch up and construction was superior to most other cigars. I highly recommend these, just don't get suckered into paying retail.

Review Notes:
I was lucky enough to get 10 of these babies off CBid for $31. Aged them for the standard 2 months (for anything I get from CBid) and have loved every single draw from these gars. The taste is very unique.....a little hard for me to describe. It's definately creamy, with maybe a little cashew and mocha thrown in. The smoke lingers heavy in the air, but it is not unpleasant. From foot to tip, this cigar will add a lot to your evening. I highly recommend!!! Especially if you're lucky enough to get them at $3.10 a piece.
