Review Notes: Obtained via a sampler, this is only the 2nd type of Gurka that I have tried, but I have had the same stale taste from both (different purchases). I know they are favored by some, but the Regent tasted EXACTLY like it was a relit partially smoked cigar.... like it was smoked half way a few weeks ago, and now I'm coming back for the rest. A bad stale cardboard aftertaste in my mouth, just not my cup of tea. Even though I was careful not to interrupt the cap with the cut via the box pressed construction, the cap still came unraveled upon my 3rd or 4th draw. A beautiful white ash though. After about 8-9 draws, I put this one down. I just had no interest to finish it. You couldn't pay me to smoke another one.

Review Notes: This is a great cigar for the price. I can easily get them for under $4. It is a nice, not too fancy, Cameroon wrapper. The box press is a nice touch. The first 2/3rds are very pleasant with all the flavor you'd expect from a nice Cameroon wrapper. Nice even burn, and a great draw. However, about the time I hit the band, I was also hit with a terrible chemical flavor. I was quite nasty. I have since smoked about 40 of these and every time, I get that same chemical taste. Friends have experienced the same thing. So for that reason I can't give it a great rating. However, I simply suggest smoking it until the band, then throw it away.

Review Notes: Nice peppery flavor, good consistent smoke. Sits well among the mid level cigars, but no higher.

Review Notes: I liked the Regent Torpedo so much, thought I'd try the toro. I wasn't disappointed, though I think I still prefer the torpedo. The toro has a nice look, and it feels right in your hand. Plenty of cocoa and dark chocolate for the palate. The price is not too bad for a Gurkha

Review Notes: Overall this is a nice smoke for the price. Far from being one of the better Gurkhas out there though... The Legend and Master Select are about as good as it gets in my opinion. The smoke is nice and thick with a sweet flavor. Perfect draw and construction.. Worth a try..
