Review Notes: I bought this one at a very low price as a part of one of the online auction sites. I enjoy cameroon wrappers and had heard this one is tough to beat for the price. In general my experience has been mixed with Gurkha in the past. They seem to do many things right and many things wrong. It is average looking and the box press is done correctly. Nice draw and a great burn. This cigar starts out very nicely with some great nutty flavors and a hint of cream. I was enjoying this cigar greatly and it was soon going to venture into my top 25, until I hit the final third. At that time I was hit with a terrible chemical taste. I suffered though it and even cleared my palate, but it would not go away. Since then I have had a dozen more of these and every time I get the same problem. I brought it up to another friend of mine and he experienced the same issue. This simply knocks it out of a super value, but I would like to give it credit for the first 2/3rds. It is a wonderful value and great flavor, until that final third. So now, I simply pull a Winston Churchill and put it out as I near the band. This one because of the value and early flavor still has a place in my humidor.

Review Notes: pre light appearance excellent except one large line coming from under band. with band removed, it doesn't appear to be a problem. box press is firm but not too tight. draw is perfect, as is initial burn. flavor is sweet almost immediately. i usually avoid food flavor references. but this cigar leaves on the palate a noticeable finish of cocoa, chocolate, mocha or whatever word you want to choose. flavor is medium to medium full at the start and smoke is abundant. burn is wavy but ash is tight and light grey. i find the flavor of H2000 wrapper pleasing, but you will be rewarded if you can smoke them slowly as the burn is inconsistent. this seems to be a good idea with this cigar anyway, as the flavor never gets harsh and allows you to enjoy it to the end. since i got these on a deal at 3.50 per, i hope to be enjoying the other 19 for a while.

Review Notes: I have smoked a number of Gurkha over the years and been less and less impressed. Centurion for $30? Royal Brigade for $15? Come on. Even in good economic times these cigars only justify about 20% (maybe less) of the asking price. This cigar, however, is excellent. I don't know why when compared with its brethren, but it is a solid smoke, complex, even in its burn, cool throughout and consistent from cigar to cigar.

Review Notes: CA gave this one a 90 rating and I concur, burns great, as with most cigars flavor develops as it burns, best flavor is at about 2.5 inches in to the smoke. Has a sweet smoke with hints of caramel and coffee. Great cigar for those with a stronger pallet.

Review Notes: I first smoked this cigar several years ago and like it. I then bought a large cabinet humidor and stored a box of these for the last 6 years. Recently, I smoked a few of them and was way impressed. Some cigars do better than others when aged and this one far surpassed anything I have smoked before in terms of it's impovement with age. The flavors were smooth and naturally sweet. In fact, I smoked a few of them back-to-back. Again, a great cigar if well aged!
