"Better with age!"

Review Notes: I tried this again after a few months of sleep in the humi. Extraordinary difference. Draw and burn was even better, but the strong woody characteristics mellowed and I could taste all the spicy nuances and even some notes of roasted peanut, which were overridden by pure wood and cedar on the first one. With a little time, this thing smoked like a champ and flavor was much more discernable. Smoke had a nice hickory scent. Voluminous, white clouds of smoke and long, thick, layered ash. These Gurkhas just need a little time.

Review Notes: So far I have been able to try almost all of the Gurkha's and find almost all of them to be find smokes. This line is no exception. Beautifuly constructed with perfect burn and ash. The flavor of this cigar was mild to medium in strength and very pleasant. Cedar is the flavor through the whole smoke withsome nuts and leather in the middle 1/3. The draw was wonderful, just like I like it. Smoke this treat with a cup of java or a pale ale, perfect combo.

"Jury is still out"

Review Notes: I bought a couple of fivers based on ratings I had seen and loved them. From the near perfect burn to the lovely white ash, and the tasty med plus flavor this one a treat. I then purchased a box and have had a few problems since. They apparently were very dry and not ready for my humi. Luckily I only placed a few inside with the rest of the family. They split w/in a few days and the caps kept coming off. I sent the rest of the box off to visit the local cigar shop for safe keeping and they too ruptured. Hey, at least I got the box...huh Might try some again later, but I since have discovered the Doble Maduro line and I'm hooked. I give this rating based on the first group I tried, not the bad box I followed up with.

"Standup Cigar..."

Review Notes: This cigar was indeed beautiful to hold and look at, with its milky tan wrapper and bottom portion covered en cedro. It was toothy and chewy, supple and oily...felt great in my mouth. It lit and burnt perfectly and the draw was exceptional via bulls-eye punch hole. Tasted cedar and spice right from the beginning. Started to smooth out in the second 1/3, where other wood notes were present...maybe oak, along with the consistent cedar. The finish was also woody. The smoke was of a smooth medium-body and was very balanced throughout. As with the other Gurkhas I've smoked, this one had a pretty one-dimensional flavor pattern...mostly of the woody/cedary variety. I personally like more change and variety in flavor throughout a smoke, but this was still a pleasurable smoke all in all. It way overexceeded the $2.50 value I paid for it. I would definitely not buy these for the MSRP, however.
