Review Notes:
This stogie took one hour and tweny minutes to finish. i enjoyed every inch of it.i got wood at the start but quickly got into a mild spice and nutty flavor. Also got some caramel notes as well. Stayed this way to the last 1/4 and then got spicy as well. This is one of the best, if not the BEST, cigar I have ever smoked. Burn was perfect. Held an ash for a good 2 inches. If you have not smoked one of these , ou need to try one. this was ion my humidor for 6 months and had been in the shops humi for about the same. So it was a year old when I lit it up.

Review Notes:
We all know this Torp suffers from construction problems...BUT most of the time, after some painstaking delicate stogie surgery, WHO CARES! I know it's a pain in the ash, but if you ask me, for the flavor, it's worth taking the necessary steps to smoke one of my favorite torpedos...besides, what cuban torpedo doesn't have problems with the draw? Concentrated nutty earthy flavors build quickly offering IMHO the quality of a finnish halfway into the second phase, and then once you reach the finnish, it is nearly unmatched...I would also put the D2 in that category. I gave it a 6 for average construction (for a Cuban).

Review Notes:
A vastly underrated cigar, in my opinion. An attractive torpedo from 6/04 with a rich brown wrapper with minimal tooth and minor veining. Solid construction without any soft spots. Easy light. Smooth draw. Even burn without the need for corrections or relights. Gray-black ash. Started with wood and mild white pepper. The first third was filled with a woody overtone with nuances of spice, cinammon, and nuts. The middle third continued with the sweet woody motif and added a toasted tobacco flavor, mild cedar notes, and barnyard hay. The last third brought a more intense spice with hints of cocoa and vanilla. All in all, this one hour twenty minute medium-bodied smoke was delightful. It was classic Upmann, which I very much enjoy. Compared with a Monte #2 and a Diplomaticos #2, this stick certainly more than holds its own.

Review Notes:
I had a very bad experience with this stick. The draw was very tight and hardly improved even after a poker was used. This greatly restricted the amount of smoke that was produced. Also, the burn was uneven the entire time. I had problems with runners for a while, then the wrapper started to split and it didn't want to stay lit. The only positive thing I have to say about this experience was that the flavor was nice. Despite the draw and burn problems, I managed to smoke it down to about 2 inches. Most of the time, it had slightly sweet cocoa flavors with hints of coffee. It never had much spiciness to it, but it was still enjoyable. I would try one of these again sometime in hopes of better construction, but not for a while. This experience was too frustrating to risk replicating in the near future.

Review Notes:
I smoked a half dozen of these in the past 6 months ... all have had adequate construction and really nice taste. I prefer the ones I've smoked to Monte 2s smoked contemperaneously. My only problem was canoeing on one of them that was a major PITA.
