Review Notes: The first third had me agreeing with the company pr, aroma & flavor were smooth and mellow, then came the very uneven burn problems causing corrections & overheating & harshness, I cut open the final third to reveal a few very stiff stemmed leaves to be the source of the problem. No more H Upmann's for me unless they are Hecho en Cuba.

"Disappointing"

Review Notes: I am a big fan of Upmann belicosos but the difference between that and this vitola could not be more pronounced. Flavor is totally middle-of-the road, no nuances, depth, or complexity whatsoever. It lacks the hearty and enjoyable earthy/woody taste of the belicoso. It tastes what mildly acrid cigar smoke might be expected to taste like. Construction and appearance are solid but not extraordinary. For the price of the box I am sure there are better smokes out there.

"Average with good construction"

Review Notes: A friend gave me this from a cigar sampler pack. I usually don't smoke this size, preferring sticks closer to 50 ring gauge. The appearance was average with a few blemishes on the wrapper. Surprising good draw for a thinner cigar. The draw was firm however I didn't have to struggle with it. The burn was good the whole way through. The taste was too average for anyone but a new cigar smoker. You've read earthy flavor which I take to mean it tastes like tobacco, a plant, and not much else. This stick fits the bill. If you have any, give them to the friends who want to mooch a cigar off of you.

"Nothing to write home about"

Review Notes: This one looked good. It had a nice pre-light aroma and draw. After firing it up the burn was perfect, the draw was good and the ash was long and firm. All of those things still don't make a cigar great... and this was nothing to write home about. It was marginal at best. It opened bland and finished only a hair better. The smoke had a boring aroma and the taste never captivated me with anything. I might have imagined some coffee, cream and earthy notes, but I think I was just making it up. It wasn't bad though, just lame. There are tons of better smokes out there and for the same price some really fantastic ones. Try again Upmann.

"Blah"

Review Notes: Really not too much to say here....this cigar is just pretty much a run of the mill Dominican smoke, maybe about what you'd find at drugstores. Has a tangy sort of salty taste that is reminicent of a Punch, but has less complexity than one, and fades pretty fast. Non-eventful wrapper. Burn and draw are fine but there is just nothing that makes this cigar stand out in any way whatsoever. This is one of those cigars you just try once, and well, never try again.
