Review Notes: Once upon a time, Cuban cigars were strong, harsh, and bitter...Some older smokers search for cigars that reflect that era...unfortunately "new age Cubans" are the polar opposite...flavors of candy sweet florals, and creamy mocha lattes are all too common now...if you started smoking during this new age, and have never experienced a harsh smoke, this cigar definately is not for you...OK here goes: Appearence...full on mottled coloring, covered in a thick layer of bloom-looks had me salivating in anticipation...Construction was good-firm roll for a slow burn, no soft spots, and plumes of smoke. Flavor...good pre-light FX, very nutty.(initial) after toasting the foot, I enjoyed a toasty tobacco flavor with woods lurking behind. (1st_3rd) Cedar WOW CEDAR! stale spice, wood dominates; bitter, very appealing. (2cnd) Nutty...again in overdrive, distinctly walnut and pistachio...the clarity of the specific flavor took me by suprise...(3rd-nub) This is where it went from being a nice smoke to a memorable experience...Leather and wood dominate the finnish...harsh, bitter...but oh so sweet! (figuratively speaking). The only thing that was lacking was vitamin N. The power just was not there. 7 years age wasn't enough to tame this beast...but I really appreciate that! Had I tried this Honduran fresh, I think I'd have cursed Hoyo out loud! lol.

Review Notes: This is a cigar that is well below average. Unfortunately, I have run into this before with HDM. A good many of them have major construction issues. When you can get one going without a plug up, or unravelling, or tunneling; the flavor is very bland and one dimensional. A Honduran Punch is roughly the same price and a much better value.

Review Notes: This cigar did not start out too well. It did not have a good draw, and I hated the flavor (sour, pepper), but I do not hold that (personal flavor taste) against HDM. With three inches left, the cigar mellowed out and started to finally produce great smoke.

Review Notes: The cigar I smoked was the English Market Selection, which is full bodied. A lucsious Ecuadorian wrapper full of burnt cocoa. I smoked a 98ish stick. Great flavor some construction issues at the end, but wonderful. Good stick for the money.

Review Notes: Hoyo de Monterrey Churchill earned a place in my humidor, but the inconsistency in construction booted it out.
