Review Notes: I got a bunch of these thorugh a sample package JR did (Mamasaurus, or something like that), so I'm writing this after smoking just two. I'm a recent convert to the Hoyo brand as every one I've tried is a good, consistent medium to full bodied cigar. The two of the dark Sumatra's were remarkably consistent as well, and as others have mentioned, look great. I mean, they're begging to be smoked! At first I thought I was gonna be disappointed cause they have a bitter start that's a little unpleasant, but hang in there for a couple of drags and all of sudden the flavors come forth. Once you get to the full burn, the experience kicks in and it's worth it. I'm not saying it's the best stogie I've ever planted in my face, but it's the kind of cigar that when your about half way through, you know why you enjoy cigars so much. It pays you back, and is a real nice medium to full flavored cigar. The flavors are pretty much as described below, kind of a cocoa hint to it. Very nice. Again, if your into appearance throughout the smoke, this is a great cigar for you, it looks good, burns even, and the ash stays in the same form until you flick it off.

Review Notes: Absolutely beautiful cigar with good construction as noticed throughout the burn. Unfortunately, the cigar was lacking in the flavor department ---- very week taste of cocoa, but that was it.

Review Notes: I was pleasantly surprised by this cigar. I liked it better than the dark knights I have smoked. It had nice flavor, a nice and also unique aroma, and excellent construction. Time didn't permit me to nub this one and I can't really comment on how the flavor may have changed for the last third as a result. But I just won a box from Cbid so I will have a chance later!

Review Notes: I generally prefer stronger smokes and gave this one a try because it was billed as stronger than the average Hoyo. It did have better flavor than the others of its clan but what impressed me was the construction. Before, during, and after smoking this had to be the best looking stick I ever torched. I mean, it was a perfect cylinder from head to foot, and maintained the look even with an almost 2" ash on it. At the risk of sounding like I'm easy to please in the looks department [remember, we're talking cigars] I've smoked a few examples of almost everything that's out there, and have never, ever really paid any major attention to a cigars looks. But this one definitely got my attention. Strength -wise I'd say it's medium, therefore not something I'd regularly stick in my face, but for a photo-op you couldn't pick a better prop.

Review Notes: On my way home from Ocean City, MD I lit one of these up at the Bay Bridge and this made my ride home a lot more enjoyable! I received this cigar with a sampler so I am reviewing this as one cigar not out of a box I purchased. Solid construction, clean cut, and a perfect draw made for an even burn. If you enjoy Hoyos then you should enjoy this one even better. Much more flavor with subtle sweetness and hints of chocolate and coffee. This size makes for a really smooth smoke that isn't too hot. I would have been able to smoke this much farther down, but I had to stop and didn't have a chance to come back to it. Very enjoyable, all around good smoke for a good price. I'd definately come back to this one again if this is how they always smoke. For some reason I can picture a dark rum and coke being a tasty match up- or just a Coke by itself (my new cigar drink- Coke...yeah, yeah, I read it in Cigar Aff.) ;-)
