Review Notes: Good cigar, full of flavor. Very heavy. Had to relight at least three times. Was very tightly rolled adn hard to draw. For the price... very nice but won't buy a box.

Review Notes: i did the gran consul on an empty stomach and actually got nausea, my buddy did to. He said never again. So when CI put the consul on special I had to buy 10. We ate and sat down with the consul. Freaking fantastic! For the power this thing provides it is one of the smoothest I have had at its strength. We just sat and watched the world go by with these and really enjoyed it. I will be buying plenty more in the future. I dont recommend this to new smokers unless you eat, take it slow, and want to feel it.

"Blecch"

Review Notes: On two years rest, the Consul remains sharp and bitter with some chemical off notes. Age has fixed the wobbly burn and erratic draw, but not the flavor. I had hoped these would develop balance in time, but I'm beginning to lose faith. Generally a rough stick that lacks character.

"Unique and strong, but..."

Review Notes: Saw these at a well-stocked smoke shop - it was easily the oiliest stick in the walk-in! I bought a 5 pack from CBid and smoked my first one just now. The flavor had a strong, oily quality to it that I've never come across - not oily as in petrol, but it definitely has a lot of natural oils! And the strength! Oi! As strong, if not stronger than the Camacho Corojo line - still speedy and reeling 15 minutes later! I do have a beef, however - this thing would not stop tunneling! I had to CONSTANTLY relight it. Don't know if it was a bad one or if this is commonplace with this cigar, but all of the tight draw reviews may be hinting that all is not right in Joya de Nicaragua land. Damn strong and interesting smell/flavor, to say the least.

"Tight draw, great flavor - almost killed me!"

Review Notes: This stick almost killed me. I think it is the combo of a tightly rolled stick and maybe a little over humidified. Started out with a tough draw. It had great coffee and cocoa flavors and leather towards the end. Had to relight it 3 times. Towards the end I was feeling like dyin'. Put me out of commision for the evening. I am scared to smoke the others. Hopefully age will smooth it out a little and no more tight draws.
