Review Notes:
Big bang on these. Starts out with a spicy wallop and big, hearty flavor. Gradually cools down into a smooth, unsweetened chocolate flavor with hints of anise. Beautiful construction and burn that required no touch-ups. Did get a little harsh towards the end, but other than that, a baeutiful smoke and one hell of a bargain.

Review Notes:
This Nicaraguan puro is small in stature but bold and big in character and flavor. This is not the type of cigar that you'd want to smoke everyday. I'd save these for after a big Italian, or steak dinner when time is short yet you want to have a full bodied experience. These go well with scotch and/or a rich tawney port. I usually get through these in about an hour or so. There are rich, smooth, deep flavors of spice, sambouca, coffee, and some dark mocha. They are attractive in their rich reddish brown wrappers and smoke and burn like a champ. Once aged at least 3 months, highly reccomended, but not to the mild crowd. Value based opon $3.

Review Notes:
Tried my first HDN Antono Consul today. When livingoverseas for many years, I had the pleasure of smoking some great cubans, particularly the Montecristo Habana and Cohiba. Both were very strong and flavourful. I thought that the Antano would be a similar experience.
I was very wrong. It stars off okay, with spice, which steadily increases. The 1-1.5 inches is smokable. After that the strength just overpowers you. I think I made the mistake of taking puffs at the same frequency with which I smoke other cigars.
I was literally reeling at the end of it and felt that I had been physically knocked about by a powerful adversary.
Unlike the cubans, this one did not have much flavour. Or if it did, the strength completely overwhelmed it. If you have never tried this cigar before and would like to test it for yourself, I would recommend that you take a good 7-10 minutes between each puff.
I still have 4 of these left. Will not buy them again

Review Notes:
Every Antano I've had took a flavor nosedive in the last third, but everything up until then is stellar. This one had a little more spice to it than the churchill.
