Review Notes: WHoooo, I love this cigar. Paid $80 for a box, solid cigar. A bit on the tasteful side, if you like mild cigars, you might want something else. Have smoked them all from Fuente to La Gloria Cubana, this is my fav for sure.

Review Notes: Not for the faint at heart. This cigar packs a punch. If you can handle the strength, this cigar is a great smoke at a bargain price. I bought a box with a friend and went through my half too quickly... Need to restock!

Review Notes: This little gem of a cigar is now going to be in my humidor at all times! It blew my mind. Supremely delightful flavor, excellent draw, not too strong or too mild, just right for me! I know some other reviewers here have said that these are "not for beginners," or "knock you out strong," but I didn't find that AT ALL. I had mine aged about 6 months, so it's not like I smoked it young. I haven't been smoking cigars long, but I didn't find this to be the least overpowering. My only complaint was that the cigar does burn a little hot and the tip of my tongue is a bit sore this morning from that, but well the hell who cares. The Gran Consul is a STEAL at the price.

Review Notes: I've seen the term "fire plug" used many times in cigar reviews but until the JdN GC I've never felt it fit. This is a fire plug in every sense. Strong and peppery with great flavor that will develop and age wonderfully. Right up there with the Gran Habanos for best smoke/price deals on the market.

Review Notes: I enjoy full-bodied smokes, but I also need flavor to complement them; my ideal cigar gives a thick, rich mouthful of smoke with every draw and that smoke is rich and complex in taste. In other words, I like a strong cigar as long as it has complexity. But just because a cigar is strong, it doesn't mean I'm going to like it, and this cigar is one of those. It looks fine, it is well-constructed, and I am impressed with its "punch," but it just tasted like a poorly drawn espresso--plenty of power and buzz, but no real tasting pleasure. Harsh, dry, and not really what I would call fun. Maybe I'm a wimp, but if I want strong, I'll go for a Cuban Partagas Lusitania...Just my two cents' worth.
