Review Notes: Great Looking Cigar - Beautiful Band, Great feeling / looking wrapper, always a fan of the box press and solid... The smoke itself was relatively one dimensional, with a pretty good flavor, very typical cigar flavor... worth the $, would give another try, nothing to write home about, stick to Padrons...

Review Notes: Construction looked great, pre-light only raised the anticipation. Heavy spice and wood flavors, a bit too sharp at first. By the second inch it had become a bit more mellow, then the uneven burn began, and never left. The draw was fine, but it kept trying to canoe. The smoke smelled great but the taste was always a bit... sharp? ammoniaish? I usually smoke Padron.... I would try it again if given to me, will not buy another...

"Epicure does not rhyme with manure..."

Review Notes: I must be smoking a completely different cigar. This was the complete package. Nice construction...beautiful box pressed shape. Even burn...efficient draw (for a larger size). The flavor profile was balanced, heavy on chocolate, nuts and spice with a medium body. Not a terribly long finish, but fairly complex and sweet smack on the wrapper. Overall, this was a very enjoyable smoke...one that I would definitely smoke again. I would have to disagree with the masses...this was a GREAT CIGAR. When you consider the price, it is an outstanding value, too.

"Consistency issue?"

Review Notes: Clearly, from the reviews here and my own experience, this cigar's having a problem maintaining consistency. Had one a few months ago that was mediocre at best. Today's was very good. Sported a beautiful, smooth dark red-hued wrapper and was solidly contructed with a good draw. The burn needed tending. Had the flavor of a JdN Antano, but lacked the spice and strength. It had a sungrown sweet character. Very pleasant medium bodied smoke. It doesn't deserve a Top 25 or anything like that, but it sure has promise if Altadis can get it's act together on achieving consistent quality. Apparently they're made in a factory that's been notable for grinding out low budget, high volume( schlock??) products. Could be a factor.

"Top 25? Is CA serious?"

Review Notes: This cigar is way overrated. Below average construction and unremarkable taste. One canoed terribly. It's also an ugly cigar. I've had two of these as was disapointed by both. At least I got them for under $5. Other reviewers noted an ammonia flavor scent; I did as well. Save your money.
