"A Solid No-Nonsence Smoke"

Review Notes: I really like this cigar, a no bullshit workhorse. A well built cigar that is cheap and really delivers in the flavor dept. A fairly thick wrapper with exl. const., it burned perfectly all the way to the nub. This cigar is not overly complex, just a satisfying hour and a half of smoking pleasure. A little spice and a woodsy aroma make this a good mild-med. cigar. They can be had on auction for as little as a buck and a half in cool packaging of five cigars per box, four boxes for a total of twenty cigars.

Review Notes: I don't think I've ever met a La Aura I didn't like. Even though its a bit of an average cigar, its quite solid in all aspects, and always has a great taste. Came in a sampler, but wouldn't mind picking up more in the future.

"Good Bargain Smoke"

Review Notes: I definitely liked the La Aurora Double Corona better than the Robusto. This is a nice long, well-built, smoke for the money. I'm not crazy about the flavor, but the price is right and it goes well with a good beer around the campfire.

"Good Mild to Medium Smoke"

Review Notes: Just lit up my 3rd stick from this box. This one has been sitting in the humi for about a month or so. Right up front, I'll say this isn't a major favorite of mine but I do enjoy them and plan on keeping them in the line up over time. These are the double coronas in a Cameroon wrapper. Construction was fine, no problems. Burned even the entire time, no touch-ups required. Ash was white to light gray and loose/flaky, holding for about an inch before falling off with a few loose flakes falling here and there. Smoke was smooth and cool. Nice and firm, tightly rolled with a great draw clipping off the cap with a 1/4" diameter. Flavor was mild to medium. At first light mostly a woodsy flavor with some white pepper. At the 2/3 mark pepper pretty much faded away and the woodsy flavor really kicked up a nice notch tasting cedar-like with hints of cocoa. Getting good amounts of thick smoke on each draw now. Still burning even and cool. At the half-way point the white pepper came back but not too strong. Just nice speckles of it dancing around on the pallet. All the other flavor points are holding even. Final third the pepper is holding even, burn is still perfect, smoke is still smooth and cool. Cedar flavors have kicked up another notch. Finished even and smooth. Over all, I would highly recommend this cigar. For $2.25, I got WAY more than my money's worth. This isn't a complex smoke, but it's got nice flavor with slow mild development throughout the burn. It would be a great "step up" for someone looking to move away from the Connecticut/mild flavored cigars on their way to developing a palett for more flavor. Smoked for about an hour and fifteen minutes. Good with a nice Cabernet or Chianti or even a dark amber ale. Perfect for hanging with the guys and enjoying good times.
