Review Notes:
I bought two bundles (BOGO deal at Famous Smoke) just a few weeks ago. Haven't been smoking much at all lately, but I decided to smoke one (only about 1/2 of it due to time constraints - can't play softball while smoking one) last night. 82 F was the temperature and very humid. Again, not ideal cigar conditions. Third strike against smoking the cigar was that they haven't had much time in my humidor (been having more patience lately with cigars, try to let them sit for at least one month). So how did I like it? I cut the cap off, lit it with my unreliable yet strangely effective torch lighter (again, it doesn't matter what you use to light a cigar), took a few puffs and thought, "Could be better". After 20 more slight puffs, the tobacco started to heat up and the good flavours came out. The maduro sweetness started to slowly mist out of the cigar, and that yummy tobacco taste lingered for a bit on my lips. Then I got to the game. 30 minutes, and I had to put the cigar down. I must say that within this short period of time, the cigar went from an economy cigar (some people call it an everyday cigar) to a very good premium feel. Given some more time in my humidor, I'm sure that the flavours will jump right out rather than seep out. The appearance of the cigar was not fancy. They reminded me of the Tabamex cigars - rustic, put together well without frayed edges and so on, but none of the sheen that you see in a premium cigar. Construction held together as I was driving around. The flavour score could be a 9 but it is an 8 because it took a while to develop. Overall, I think it is a good value (I like these better than the Sancho Panza maduros anyday). Being a cheapskate, I like buying these on sale or BOGO, but I think they're worth their regular low-price.
