Review Notes:
La Gloria Cubana are usually a safe bet to be high quality and have lots of flavor, without a super-premium price. Well, we hit 2 out of 3 here. The price was right, and the look and overall construction of this cigar was nearly flawless...love marudos anyway :) The flavor is where they lost me. Oh, it was fine at first, but took on a grassy flavor and stayed that way to the end. I have been educated to interpret "grassy" as "underaged tobacco".
The demand for La Gloria cigars seems to have pushed the line into over-production..which raises their profits and lowers the cigar quality. It won't be long and they will see that people will turn to other cigars. If it is cheap, and tastes that way..well, you get the point.
As far as having to stick a cigar away in my personal humidor to properly age/condition it before I smoke it....well....that is bunk. A good cigar should be ready to smoke the day you buy it. Although I know first hand that some cigars do improve with storage time in a well maintained humidor, it should never be necessary on the consumer's part. La Gloria and other cigar makers need to be sure that the consumer does not have to be come a secondary aging/curing step in their cigar making processes. I for one will go elsewhere.

Review Notes:
The secret to these is in the aging. I think they are released a little too green. After at least 6 months in the humi they're great. The one I smoked last night has been in since 2001. Smacks of black coffee, chocolate, cedar and a little brown sugar. Medium bodied. Clean ash.

Review Notes:
This cigar was a bit veiny, but maduro wrappers tend to be just that. It has a nice easy draw with clouds of bellowing white smoke, yet tended to burn a little uneven at times. The ash was nice and light indicating good soil conditions. Little stronger then I tend to like in a cigar, I would guess moderate to full bodied. Each time the cigar burned uneven again it started to taste dry and a little bitter.

Review Notes:
Nicely uniform dark chocolate wrapper, decent construction though didn't burn sharp (no relights necessary) and even tempered flavor. A better than average finish--stays moderate, no bitterness, and a very mild aftertaste. Not exceptional, but friendly. Like my neighbor who has to come over and peer over the fence whenever I'm picking up dog shit in the back yard. A nice gesture but not anything to add to the memoirs.

Review Notes:
Other than slight uneven burn, a top notch cigar. Dark oily wrapper, perfect draw. Great flavor, mostly leather and spice. Clean after taste.
