Review Notes:
It is one o'clock in the morning, and I just finished my first LGC Flecha. This is simply, a remarkable smoke. I am a fan of LGC, especially the Serie R, but I was not prepared for what this lovely figurado had in store. It is a beautiful tapered perfecto, wrapped in golden brown Ecuadorian leaf. After clipping the tapered cap, I torched the pointed tip, which fired into a perfect cone. First impression was spicy, with enough power to let you know it was young and meant business. It had a muscular, somewhat harsh and peppery introduction, which resolved into an amazingly full array of flavors. There were strong citrus notes (grapefruit, perhaps) and a surprising strawberry tart-sweetness. This fruit compote was spiced with pepper and complex, tangy but still immature tobacco flavors. It burned perfectly, delivering a dense and aromatic smoke. As the cigar progressed into it's final third, it grew in strength, but never lost it's balance, remaining complex and flavorful to the final inch. The finish was long, savory and flat out delicious... a memorable vitola indeed. I have enjoyed many highly regarded (and priced) Habanos that did not deliver the complexity, flavor and satisfaction of this little perfecto. A real gem!
